Gucci
7/10
A well done soap opera, but wow lots of just bad behavior and family dysfunction. What's that saying, "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"?
Ghostbusters Afterlife
7.5/10
A worthy Ghostbusters sequel. Most of the kids were annoying but I suppose that's accurate.
Shock (1946)
7.5/10
An interesting premise with good performances from the main characters. Humans can be too conniving for their own good and this story exemplifies it.
Scarlet Street (1945)
8.5/10
More human conniving and all around bad behavior, centered around a sad and lonely man's situation. It didn't unfold how I thought it would. Well done and very tragic.

Just got back from watching Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City in the theater. It's the best live action adaptation of Resident Evil (and I'm a big fan of the games). Having said that, the movie was still "alright" at best. This was my first theater visit in almost 2 years. Was more excited to visit a theater after all that time than see the actual movie.Last edited by Kain; Nov 30, 2021, 01:48 PM.

Dhoom - Kept waiting for The Rock to show up and he never did, instead I got Indian Fast and the Furious. It was glorious.“On a lonely planet spinning its way toward damnation amid
the fear and despair of a broken human race, who is left to fight for all
that is good and pure and gets you smashed for under a fiver? Yes, it’s
the surprising adventures of me, Sir Digby Chicken-Caesar!”

Just watched Dhoom 2: Dhoom Again - Still waiting for them to get to Mars and The Rock to Show up. Lot weaker than the first one. Went a little light on the over the top action and a little heavier on the Telenovelas romance parts. I know there's one more on Amazon, and not 100% sure I'm gonna watch it for completeness sakes. We'll see.
Still need to watch Bahubali 2 one of these nights. And kinda saw the trailer for 2.0 on Amazon and that looks completely nuts. They are marathons though. Each one is well over 2 hours.
Also, what's with the mixing of languages? There'll be a random english word or entire sentence here and there. That normal?

Oh yeah, they're great. So many songs about heartache in that last one. Title song is a hell of an ear worm for me at the moment.“On a lonely planet spinning its way toward damnation amid

I also still love "All righty then" from Ace. I drive the grandkids nuts with it.
For me, other quotables notables are Stripes and Holy Grail.
Everyone one remembers "lean, mean, fightin' machine," but for me it's Winger's parting shot as his girlfriend walks out the door: "You can't leave-- all the plants'll die!" [Don't ask me why, it just gets me]When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

Those who wish me dead. 5.5/10. Angelina Jolie fights bad corporate guys in a forest fire setting. Reminds me of that Liam Neesen ice road trucker movie: an action thriller based on some blue-collar profession, including a corporate conspiracy that means to murder the working folks. Includes stupidly contrived story beats that fail pretty hard, yet still maintains enough entertainment that I didn't turn it off. It's a stupid movie designed to cater to stupid people. Includes a surprisingly competent cast...makes me think some good actors lost a bet.Originally posted by KACTo be honest I never even found doom 3 to be scary since I have a big dick since birth.

Dune. 6.5/10. Maybe it was the theater where I saw it but there must have been an eclipse on Arrakkis because the picture quality was dark as crap. Also, I don't remember Jessica being such a crybaby in the books.
Black Widow: 5/10. If The Eternals is the worst Marvel movie to this point, it has this one to beat. The sister's cute and provides comic relief but it was pretty damn bad.

House of Gucci- Gaga is amazing, but the tone is all over the place.
I'd read the book this was based on, and the book seemed to make Patrizia Reggiani (played fantastically by Gaga) almost a sympathetic character.
It bounces from soap opera, to prestige drama and back all through the movie.
7.5/10 - it was enjoyable, with a good soundtrack. Are your pockets full of macaroni and cheese, too?

Last Bond Movie
I kindda liked it. 100x more memorable than everything other than Casino Royale. Also some action sequences for the events towards the end were definitely John Wick-esque I thought. Obviously not AS good, but you could see they tried.
They were hinting at some serious diplomatic consequences towards the end but then nothing came of it?!?! They just never mention it again? I thought it would be a perfect segway into the next series of moviesOriginally posted by KACGays if I had boyfriends your mums wouldn’t have produced your sorry asses.

Dhoom 3: YELLOWBEARD IS A FREE ELF! I have finished the trilogy. Geeze, the last one was 10 minutes shy of 3 hours. Went more action heavy this time around which was an about face from the second one, was a little disappointed it was set in Chicago though. Had to wait until the ending credits to get the iconic song. Also got a hearty chuckle when all of a sudden there is a ginormous dam set in the scenic mountains of Illinois.

Lo and Behold: Reveries of the Connected World . . . 6/10
Werner Herzog doc on the past, present, and future of the internet, with interviews and narration by him, as only he can do. Interesting, not riveting, with a nice mixture of tech and culture.
I watched it on Hulu; it's leaving soon. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

They shut down theaters hereWas going to see the Matrix but probably won't be able for a while.

We got HBO Max to watch the new Matrix and I loaded up Blade Runner 2049 just to check out the visual quality, and I got sucked into watching the whole thing.
I've seen this now maybe three times and I'm still catching things and it's still such a beautifully eerie movie. I recommend re-watching if you haven't lately, especially if you have a bigger better 4K TV.When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

Watched two movies: Hush and The Matrix Resurrections.
Hush was a rewatch after quite some time. Great movie. I recently watched Midnight Mass and rewatching Hush made me see the Midnight Mass reference in the movie. Thought it was pretty cool.
The Matrix Resurrections is the weakest Matrix movie so far. Very uninspiring action and acting. I still thought it was okay overall, about as good as what modern Hollywood considers is a "good" movie.
Edit: Now that I slept on the new Matrix movie overnight, I think I actually did like it. Sure, Neo is the weakest he's been in these movies and the action was also forgettable but everything else was interesting.Last edited by Kain; Dec 26, 2021, 01:15 AM.
