Just was a plain out mess, maybe someone will like it, I like these as popcorn flicks, but was just a mess, story sucked or was plain out stupid, the acting or human parts suck. I guess the battles were ok I suppose but when the whole thing sucks there just isn't much point.

Strange that everyone here dislikes Godzilla vs Kong, as it has great rotten tomators reviews, including the audience score. Will watch it this weekend and see what I think.

On your recommendation I gave it a watch. Didn't enjoy it as much as you did. It was fast out of the gate but then became a crawl. It was interesting enough for me to see it to the end but not much else. 5/10
Sometimes I just like slower paced movies.
As for me, I watched Godzilla vs. Kong few days back. Went in for the monster fights and got the monster fights.
If I were to rank all the current movies, it would be Godzilla (2014) > Godzilla vs. Kong > Kong: Skull Island > Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

Haven't seen Skull Island nor King of monsters... Should I bother ?

I'm a Godzilla and Kong fan so I kinda enjoyed them all (watched for Godzilla and Kong and not the human stuff). If you watch them for the monster action you could enjoy them. Not sure how much of a MonsterVerse fan you are though.
people love to rip on the 1998 one but i like it. i still remember tripping out over the hologram-green-lizard eye box cover for the vhs at a video rental place god im getting old

Godzilla vs Kong wasn't that bad, it was decent. Kong actually had some good "character" development. Godzilla seemed like he was just thrown in there, not really given any purpose to exist other than to fulfull the title role. There was one strange scene where it seemed like he was even laughing.
Favorite part was when Godzilla was getting his ass royally kicked by Mecha Godzilla before Kong had to step in and save him. Tossed around and dragged around by Mecha like a caveman's bitch. Quite comical.
Also, Mecha Godzilla needed more screen time on it's own. That was one bad ass machine. The last part of the movie didn't do it enough justice. Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla shoulda been it's own movie first without Kong's involvement.
Also glad that they didn't waste time delaying that atomic breath. Godzilla kept trying that **** from the get go with Kong. Would've hated if they fought and then suddenly Godzilla tries his blue breath at the very end of the fight like some kind of climax when it would have made perfectly sense to try it from the start.
The problem with this movie was that it was too soon. Godzilla should have had another movie where he slowly turned from savior to destroyer.
Kong, well he just needed more movies. Only two, and almost 12 years apart, wasn't enough to set up this showdown.
It's like having Jason vs Freddy after their second respective movies.

Says movie was decent. Writes 500 words complaining about it.
finally saw deja vu. on the weaker side, but still ok because of Denzel and gorgeous Paula Patton. the time paradox flaws are SUPER glaring. way more than in BTTF imo. time travel movies are really hard to do well...

Yes time travel is flawed in movies because we have already real world examples of proper time travel.
I kept thinking "It can't be that bad"...if they removed 75% of the human scenes, it would be a 7 or 8/10 for the monster animations and design.
People literally destroyed this movie.
Ya know we already went through that with the last Godzilla so I was fully expecting for the human scenes to be horrid. The little girl amd Kong worked though so I'll do 7/10 for it.

If there is such a GIF I give you permission to post it.
Actually that particular gif might be too much for the prudes here. They may even need to wash their eyes with soap and gargle with sanitizer afterwards.

Watched the first half of Godzilla vs Kong last night. So far so good. Lots of fun stuff... goes way beyond the previous movies that try to stay alot more grounded. Will try to finish it tonight.

The Gentlemen. 6/10. Way too much exposition. The first half was so difficult to follow because of this. Thankfully it came together in the second half.

Godzilla v Kong. Outside of the stupid human stuff it was pretty good. Amazing fight sequences.
8/10 fights are worth it.
