That was pretty darn good subtitles and all. Good soundwork. Might have missed the message but as a scifi/horror it worked.

Hmm the performance by Fedor Bondarchuk as the baddy soviet colonel was so good I looked him up and yep hes a pretty well respected actor producer director in Russia. Gonna check more of his stuff out. Looks like he has a couple war films that are well rated.

Riddick is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. They can be cheesy, in a pro-wrestling-meets-dungeons-and-dragons kind of way, but there's also a ton of great world building, and it all kindof works for me.

I do hope someday they get back to the large-scale ridiculous storytelling that they did in Chronicles of Riddick. Diesel is too busy working on projects that make $$ though.

I also wonder if Riddick might be more viable as a 10 episode streaming series, rather than a film? Just a thought.

I honestly never quite liked the last Riddick movie. Pitch black was best of them. Everything after that was “too much”. I did love the Riddick game though.

Watched Wrong Turn (2021). Not bad, however I didn't like how the kills were off-camera. Also, this one has nothing to do with cannibalistic hillbillies and takes a very different approach to the Wrong Turn franchise. But they do reference the first movie in a few Easter eggs though.

I was a bit confused at the ending though. It looks everyone on the plane totally abandoned all the kids that got left behind in the oasis. Doesn't seem right.

Watched two movies last Friday: Run and Monster Hunter.

Run was a second time viewing for me but a first time viewing for my mom. I asked her to watch it because I knew she'd like the movie and she did.

As for Monster Hunter, I thought it wasn't as bad as you might think (gets points for good audio and video). Gives you about what you expect from such a movie so you can't really complain much.

The Aeronauts - 7.5/10 quite decent but they completely butchered the facts, so I recommend you don't research the true story component.

Yep. Like the fact that the aeronauts were 2 men in real life, not a man and a woman. Still a good movie if you don't treat it like anything other than fiction.
