Raz, she is actually just fine in what she is saying. She is talking about the stigma of the word "fat." She is against the irrational (denial) part of the fat acceptance movement. Fat should be a descriptor for a physical condition, that has the potential side benefit of making it far easier to address as a potential health issue.

It's a quasi-smart angle though, by carefully neglecting to say other things. She hasn't at all mentioned anything about the health issues she will suffer as a result of being fat. She hasn't said that she is beautiful to only a portion of the people who behold her. She hasn't said, "I sweat like a horse climbing a half-dozen stairs."

So she's using partial truth to justify her position.

I'm still in the camp of "If you choose to be fat, and not because of a medical condition, then any consequences of you being fat, medically, socially, or otherwise, are on your shoulders. Don't make the tax payer cover your self-inflected medical costs. Pay for the extra weight you bring to a flight, or the two seats you now occupy on a bus or at the cinema. Pay for your own hospital bills for diabetes, arthritis, stroke, heart disease, and so-forth. And sure, be happy with who you are."

Apparently "eaches" is a legitimate, or at least slang term, used in some accounting or purchasing departments. A few years ago I was trying to work out an accounting snafu with the head of our plant's purchasing department. I was trying to move some product into another accounting category, and this well educated, well spoken lady asked me if they were "eaches".

I said, "...".

She said, "Are they lots or eaches?"

"What do you mean?"

"Are they lot tracked or serial number tracked?"

"Huh? Oh, um, they're lot tracked."

What she meant (I think) is, are they tracked one by one, individually, or by batches or lots. "Eaches" meaning each, meaning one, not many, similar to "pack or packs", "lot or lots", etc. So "each or eaches". It poor grammar so I gather it's simply a slang term. Since then I've heard other accounting/purchasing types use that word.

Those accounting types need to get out more, if you ask me.
