Sonic Youth... being Sonic Youth, and jamming out 10 minutes of noise while the crowd starts to stare blankly and hope for the end of their set, LOL. What do you expect, they're like 50 yrs old now. The cheers at the end seem more of relief than that of appreciation.
(I do like Sy songs btw, but these noise pieces are why I would never go to one of their concerts without mass drugs)
Do not watch the whole video unless you are a tortured masochist.

Richard Hammond on Top Gear; talking about the Jetcar crash
[yt]3lxwwVUlqNA[/yt]The strong man is the one who is able to intercept at will the communication between the senses and the mind.
~ Napoleon Bonaparte (1769 - 1821)
First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out for me.By the late 1980s, Stallman had refined it to a more simple mnemonic:
"Don't think free as in free beer; think free as in [freedom]."

most were obivously in a state of agitation with some actually covering their ears..and did you see the one chick actually bobbing her head as if it were REAL music! she must have been on whatever they (band) were on
but seriously, this was the worst form of "art" i've ever seen in a band

But this? This was overkill to the worst degree.
At an artsy noise festival it might fit in, but obviously not at that concert.
I still like their albums, but they don't go this wacko into the noise exploration on studio albums.
Either way, they are so '80's.
