Listened to the whole thing. I dig it, had some doomy (old Katatonia influenced i'm guessing, i think I also hear Daylight Dies influence) parts mixed in which I really like. Otherwise sounds like it came out of Sweden. Tempos also not being super fast really does it for me. Tip of the hat to your friend. Know what gear he uses? He do the mixing and mastering too? real drums (sounds like it)? sorry for the questions, just curious.

Mixing was done by Tymon Kruidenier (ex-Cynic), mastering done by Brett Caldas-Lima (Ayreon, SepticFlesh). I know one of the guitars he used was one that I built, an 8 string multiscale with an ash body and maple/purpleheart neck, rosewood fretboard. Also believe he used an AxeFX for the tones. There's a whole band there, so not just my buddy, but he's been sending me his demos for this for years. Here's the Bandcamp listing for the album:

I've seen them live 3 times. First was actually in 2012 when they were just this weird opener for Opeth and had only released their first album. They seem to get alot of hate these days for not being heavy enough, which is silly. I'm not a huge fan of the newest album prequelle but everything before that is stellar.

Yeah they are a rare band that has longevity. Not many left from the 90's that are still releasing new albums and touring. I've always been a big Garbage fan, they never disappoint. Got tickets to see them in September too. First concert in a few years for me, can't wait!

I saw the end of their set in that Opeth tour in the DFW area. Made it to the arena late thanks to traffic, I had actually wanted to see their whole set.

I hope they continue on this path. There's no way they can live up to the 20 year old versions of themselves, so they've slowed it down and seem to be experimenting with different styles and sounds. Hopefully they find a good groove and put out something spectacular.

At 5:30ish they even took the post-process reverb from Lindberg's voice for a bit. That reverb's been present throughout their comeback, and I hope to see it gone one day.
