Hard to visualize the end product given only this photo. What’s the whole plan look like?

The block is for a sub floor? That’s always super handy for routing and re-routing of electrical.

Looking really good bill, you do some nice work

What are your plans for the roof? Probably just the camera angle but it looks slightly slanted for flat?

the walls are flat and level now still have to do the top plates after the door then start the roof
but it's goibg to be a Gambrel roof like a old barn with a loft almost a second floor

                                          truss layout

                                          235 miter cuts later

                                          one stack

                                          oh look ray tracing

now i hace to cut 120 plywood gussets and build a large jig 20 feet by 12 feet in the carport to put them toghter and glue and woodscrew them together

went to home depot today for 24 - 2x10's x 20 feet 59 bucks each and everyone they had was warped and split 3 foot in on both ends = worthless

had windows in the old workshop they just attracted spiders and bugs and make it harder to cool and are always dirty
and since it will have two mini splits and the walls will have 2 inch R13.1 foam board insulation plus R23 rockwool insulation

                                              why would i want a widow in a R36+ wall when it's 115f+ outside
and it is better to have only one type of light in a shop, and you can get odd shadows with over head lights and windows when laying out stuff

got the 2 doors one upstairs on one end and the main door and will put in a two vent fans with a damper to the overhang in front with a bug screen
for when i'm doing anything with fumes

i will put two 8 inch round vent ducts or maybe 2 6x10 ducts before the upstairs floor goes in and the fans later

                                                    126 gussets cut

each of 21 trusses takes 6 gussets and 7 boards all cut and ready - finally
