"Bloodborne" and "Dark Souls 3's" developers at From Software are rumored to be working on at least one PS4 exclusive JRPG that might be "Bloodborne 2." There was also mention of a second project related to the JRPG genre.
The news comes to Design & Trend via a post by Verendus on the NeoGAF forums. In a much larger discussion about Sony's first-party games lineup, the known leaker discussed what the folks at From Software might be up to next.
To quote the post directly, the "next FS exclusive for PS4 [is] currently in development, is a Sony published first-party title, like 'Bloodborne,' and is a JRPG." This news arrives to contest a statement made by Sony Worldwide's Shuhei Yoshida that there will be no such titles released in the near future.
When it comes to From Software making a Sony-published JRPG, the most obvious contender is a sequel to "Bloodborne." With its Victorian flair and evolved "Dark Souls" formula, the title has been able to sell over 2 million copies as a brutally difficult PS4 exclusive. Back in May, Sony officials mentioned that they were "surprised" by the game's success. In that regard, it makes sense that a sequel to the tune of "Bloodborne 2" would be under consideration.
