Apple CarPlay vs. Android Auto: Which belongs in your next ride?

Who here is using either of these? Your thoughts?

We’ve gone hands-on with many car manufacturer’s proprietary infotainment systems, and we can confidently report that CarPlay and Android Auto are flat-out superior. After all, what’s more familiar than the screen you look at every day, all day? And what device is more connected to you than your smartphone? So we can confidently say that CarPlay and Android Auto are good ideas, but which one is better?

I actually just upgraded my stock Civic Si head unit with a Pioneer AVH-4100NEX. This head unit does both, and its not terribly expensive IMO

Android auto works great, google voice search works perfectly. However apps are lacking so far.
Only music options are Google, Spotify, Tune-In(which does NOT let you type in or search for stations).

I have an iPad Mini2, and I have yet to set it up and give it a spin so I can not comment on it yet.

The big reason why I got the Pioneer is for AppRadio, it allows you to control your phone from your head unit. I mostly use it for the awesome app "dashcommand" works great!
