    Battlefield 1942 is now free to download

    Battlefield series fans now can relive the glory days with Battlefield 1942, just released for free forever on Origin. You can find the download here or in the Demos section of the Origin client store.

    This version of the game operates on its own servers, and could prove the de facto version going forward. Expansions are not included, though mods are still compatible -- you may want to start with Desert Combat.

      Desert Combat was/is an excellent mod for BF1942 had many a great game playing this mod on top of the fun with vanilla BF1942
