Fireuser.com has a nice video of leveraging GPGPU power of a FirePro card with a quad core CPU to be faster than an 8-core Opteron CPU.
This proof of concept shows how GPGPU hardware can meaningfully accelerate business applications. Unfortunately the demo wasn't run on a Trinity APU to really show how heterogeneous compute will impact business in the near future, but the idea is the same - less money and power on CPU's, get the job done faster with a GPU.
Notice also that the quad core alone is not half the speed of the octocore alone; diminishing returns are seen parallelizing across the cpu cores.
