I bet it will be only show off, something that in real life will not be broadly available to everyone (GTX690 because of its price or GTX670Ti/660 out of stock status - hello TSMC

Sell more lower end cards because you can claim to have the fastest (most expensive) card. Even if the lower end card might have a poorer price/performance ratio than the competition.
