    Team Rage3D Folding@Home Weekly Update (Mar. 13 -19)

Welcome to another week of folding proteins!

This news item is part of weekly set of updates that are meant to raise awareness of Rage3D's Folding@home team and encourage our readers and members to participate. Folding@home was created by Stanford to use your computer to simulate how proteins form, fold, and mis-fold in the body. These simulations shed light and helps cure diseases that include cancer, Alzheimer's, Mad Cow (BSE), CJD, ALS, Huntington's, and Parkinson's.

Now let's look at how Team Rage3D did last week! Let's start with the highlights:

    Last week Team Rage3D...
    • Completed 5,306 Work Units (WUs), which is up 1.78% from the previous week,
    • Produced a total of 4,987,528 Points, which is up 0.74% from the previous week, and
    • Averaged 712,504 Points Per Day (PPD), which is up 0.74% from the previous week.

In addition Team Rage3D had an average of 108.2 users actively participating out of a total 4,030. This averages out to 6585.1 PPD Per User. Team Rage3D also held onto its position at 21 for total number of points. These are all about the same as from the previous week so it should be no surprise how we stack up against other teams:

As in previous weeks, Team Rage3D is floating somewhere between treading water and sinking. If your are one of the nearly 4,000 who have participated with Team Rage3D to curing cancer in the past I'd like you to consider that if all 4,030 of you produced a single work unit with just a modest CPU or GPU, then our daily production would more than triple. Please give the new Folding@home clients a chance; I can promise they've improved since the last time you tried them.

It takes less than 15 minutes to get most clients up and running so if you are new to Folding@home or a returning member please give one a try and remember to enter 64 for your team number!
