@caseygotcher That is ****ing funny. I have GTX 480 SLI running in my office now. With that system live it bumps my office temp 5 degrees.

                  Cute.

But the SWAT patches appear home-made.
Look on the bright side, one day our sun will supernova red giant and this won't even be a memory.

                              Since 2008:

                              4870X2 system sucking 483W under load to a 5970 system sucking 352W under load (2 GPU's)

280 system sucking 364W under load to a 480 system sucking 376W under load (1 GPU)

After claiming the single card performance crown, the 4870 X2 is proving immensely popular amongst high end enthusiasts. We take a look at Sapphire's version of this graphics monster, and try our hand at overclocking it - oven mitts on standby!

The wait is finally over - Nvidia's new graphics cards based around the Fermi architecture are here! We take a look at the flagship card, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 480 1,536MB. Read on to find out if it's able to wrestle the single-GPU gaming performance crown from ATI's Radeon HD 5870.

I think AMD/Ati has every reason to gloat.

Hmm, according to those links the 4870x2 uses more power than any card on the list. And with default fan settings it's pretty usual for it to hit 90c under full load. I'm not really complaining, I knew what I was buying, and the video was kinda funny, but you have to call it what it is.

True, 2 years ago ATI had the most power hungry card, but then it was running 2 GPU's

                                    3DMark06 Canyon Flight test, 1,280 x 1,024 and Crysis DX10 at 1680x1050 aren't exactly a fair comparison imo.
