Easy way to jump straight to the last page of a thread?

It keeps plopping me into the 1st page of each thread, and then I have to scroll to the bottom and select the newest page. Half the time, that latest page doesn't even display properly, and then I have to navigate to the 2nd latest page, and then back to the newest.

Is there an easy way to just get straight to the newest posts of a thread?

Are you on mobile? If so and you are in portrait mode, it is on the same line as Last Post.

no its desktop on chrome... maybe a browser thing? Its just more steps to do everytime to go to last page having to scroll down and click last page number...

Edit ok latest activity tab... yea thats easier.

I had to type 650 for the last page on the funny thread to go last page (instead of just pressing a button)

But with the little arrows fixed the problem of last page.

no its desktop on chrome... maybe a browser thing? Its just more steps to do everytime to go to last page having to scroll down and click last page number...

It might also be an issue with Chrome. Another user is reporting Chrome issues on the Discord channel. His are login related though.

I definitely prefer the look, layout and functionality of the older version. This new version really isn't an improvement on the user facing end IMO.

I do like the new look etc. Just the small functionalities that I miss.. but will take some time to get used to.

I'm sure the backend is a vast improvement. Will just take some time to get used to all the differences on the user end. I'll be happier if the Midnight Rage theme can be ported over.

I havent been able to find the setting so far. I just know that 10 threads per page was driving me insane.

Posts per page is in user settings under account.

Click the icon under the last posters user name. It’s the same icon next to DeathKnights name that you quoted.

Okay the tool tip (hover over) for >> is last post. The one I've been using is double down within the thread title at the beginning where the tool tip says first unread. Maybe need clarification or tooltip fix?

It may need some clarification sure. I still haven’t visited the site on a PC yet and, if there’s a way to hover and bring up the tip on mobile I’m not aware of it. I’ll be on my laptop in the am and will be able to see what you see.

I've done some digging and so far the answer is no unfortunately. Hoping Ratchet has some time to customize the site. I'm definitely not an expert when it comes to coding.

Just poking around in the browser Dev tools, there are some CSS elements that have a max-width setting. For example, the main id="content" element has a max-width set at 1200px. Removing that gives you the wider layout. But, you do need some knowledge on the CSS side because that is only one part of it.

I would assume that there some alternate themes available that have the wide layout, which would probably be an easier fix than tweaking the CSS of an existing theme.

Supposedly the green double down arrows will do the trick. Seemed to work for me especially after Dave switched back to DB mode instead of cookie mode and set me back a day.

Edit: I just love being able to drop in a little picture instead of having to upload it to somewhere external but hope this doesn't cause excessive DB bloat. Does the software have a trim function so images that haven't been accessed in forever get removed?

Noticing the same behavior now with the switch to database mode.

I miss the old site layout. When Anandtech changed I stopped posting there now the same is happening on Rage3D. The new format is not engaging to me at all.

All these functions that we thought is missing but is actually in this version of the forum is effing tiny and hard to find and see until we know its there lol.
