    2.19 Version speed

Has anyone got a reasonable estimate as to how much of a speed increase version 2.19 has over previous versions. I just bumped up to 2.19 from 2.15 on one of my machines and seem to be noticing about a 25% speed increase. I hope thats not a premature estimate.

I thought it was supposed to be somewhat faster...were you comparing the same proteins??

It's way to early to tell how much faster 2.19 will be. 25% faster was just my first guess after 5/100 nof my first protein. Its starting to look even better. Am I a little last in upgrading to 2.19?

Maybe I should re-read my posts for spelling mistakes before I send them.

Heh, I'm still running 2.15. I still haven't gotten around to changing it, since there's nothing wrong with it now.

                2.14!

I was still using 2.14 up 'till yesterday! Now I'm on 2.19.

Well ... there still seems to be a decent speed increase on my T-Bird system but so far the PIII is showing no signs of improvement. Of course that PIII board was from some bargain bin in K-Mart or Wal-Mart or something like that.

                      mine reads FAH2Console-v2.19..

running the console not GUI/SS...maybe they forgot to change the header? they've made typos in the client before

The best accuracy I can come up with is a speed increase of 12% on the Athlon system. I'm just flat out dissapointed with the performance of the PIII.
Does anyone know if the program is optimized for 3D now! instructions?

It doesn't. The floating point unit on the Athlons is just a lot faster on raw calculations without any special instructions.
