For the fifth and final GPU in my rig I got an asrock challenger D 5600xt. Sent it back because of unusual fan noise. Second try was a asus strix 5600xt. Sent it back because it would not undervolt or overclock. Worked fine otherwise. Next week I've got a tuf 6700xt. Hoping that will be finally it. My experience is that the 5600/5700 are a little more efficient options, but are harder to tune and require bios modding to get the most out of. The 6000 series cards are just more simple to deal with right now.
I'd love to have more but at this point I've met my goal. Less heat, less noise, and less power over my old six GPU vega64 rig. Once I get the 6700xt in and tuned I'm done with adding cards and tweaking. This is a hobby for me not a business.
That's a good GPU collection. I found the AMD cards were even harder to get around here than the rtx 30 series.
What hashrates and $ are you getting? Do they all run without issue on the same rig?

Nub guide?
Also the earn rate has fallen off a cliff.
Used to make about 0.00005 BTC / 4h but now down to 0.00004 BTC typically. Which sucks ass.
Hah, my 3070 does 0.000013 to 0.000025 / 4h. You are 2-4x my speed.

I've more or less tried tuning for max efficiency and not max hash rate. Lowest clocks, vcore, and highest memory clocks I can get away with.
The 6800xt hit 61 MH each. 5700xt hits 54.5 MH. 5600xt 42 MH. And the 6700xt 43 MH. The 5700/5600 are bios modded. The 6700xt is new, and I am testing it so have not adjusted vcore below the 912mv stock minimum nor has it been overclocked yet. This weekend when I can babysit it then I will try for lower core voltage and tuning.
It all runs fairly well however I do have one 6800xt that likes to throttle down 1-2 MH and I haven't figured that issue out yet. To snap it out of this I have to enable power slider and hit apply without even making adjustments. Or alternately if that doesn't work, set it to default settings and then reapply the mining profile.
I'm mining eth being paid in xmr. 262 MH on the rig + 63 MH from my 6900xt nets around 3 xmr each month, maybe a little more depending. As you know, it varies.
Since last Friday the earn rates insane. Over 0.003 BTC/day.
@Riptide. I've done the same, chosen efficiency over more hashrate. I prefer a few MH/s less but cooler temps and not destroying my cards. It's the smart thing to do. Plus I find I can have an up time of a month before they crash for random reasons.

Yeah, my earnings have gone way up too.
And also running for efficiency.

good grief that's crazy! What are you mining with/on? And is that with a single card?!

Yes I don’t understand this logic. People who wanted cards got them. People who were lazy didn’t get them. It’s a bit like who climbs the corporate ladder. The answer is not everyone. Who gets the new limited edition Ferrari? Not everyone. It’s the same with video cards. People who were fast, creative or diligent got one. All the losers who didn’t try hard enough are still crying 6 months on.
Miners managed to get it. Sometimes they even paid a high price. Demand and supply. The production has been higher than past releases even with a worldwide pandemic but demand is high because last card worth purchasing was a 1080 Ti released 3 years ago.
I myself got cards at MSRP and can still walk into a shop and buy a card at 2.5-3X the cost. There are people who are OK to pay that price so that is the market price. If you missed the boat stop crying and posting in this thread which is not about card availability. Use the dedicated thread.
I got the card I wanted (3070), at MSRP, but it was work to get it.

People were camping outside the local Microcenter yesterday waiting for this mornings delivery of cards. That's dedicated. Too dedicated for me though.
Whenever a new gen of cards came out I would want it but the prices are obscene. Subconsciously I'd never try hard to buy one and would talk myself out of it. This time around the cards work for you and make you $$. It was easy to justify. When it comes to $$ I did all I could to make sure I got one. There was even a point in dec Jan where I literally could of bought 100+ of 3070/90 . I remember thinking CanadaComputers screwed themselves and bought too many especially of the 3090 who would ever buy them. A week later, nothing was ever available again. Anyways for gamers thinking they'll get a card July when ethereum profitability cuts in half I doubt it. I still say January. Mining $$ will be cut in half yes with lower fees but I see price of eth way more than doubling in the meantime to make up for it. By the time it all crashed down say Jan 2022 there might be less demand. Hard to know
Sry for my grammar. Typing on phones always sucks. I end up leaving words out

If I have to 'work' at getting something to play a PC game on then it's no longer a hobby but a chore or a job.
I got a card because I saw one for sale and I bought it from a brick and mortar store. No 'work' involved. It's a freaking hobby or pastime. No point in whining and complaining and gloating over people who can't get a card.
And also there is no point in dumb analogies especially car analogies.
The real goal is probably 25%, just said 40+ so that then 25 seems better

I can see myself doing this for ONE card. Just to game on. To buy more for a rig? No I'm not going to be out there every day for 6+ cards.

You don't want it bad enough. Just comes down to that, like a lot of things. Whether it's camping out to buy one or paying over msrp, we all (well most lol) work to play. It took work, a chore, to get the money for the computer.

I'm a 2nd gen buyer more or less, although I skipped the 20x0 series. I'll grab the latest and greatest if it's easily available, but this is strictly hobby/play stuff for me. I keep a small budget set aside for toys, but already busted that with other stuff lol.
Not nearly the enthusiast level most of you gents in here are

I have a 3070 and it was kind of easy to get one so I bought it. I have a life and I don't have time to fight on a computer in order to give MY money for a service or product I want. I am not begging someone to take my hard earned money. If the product is not readily available to me then it's not worth my precious time to fight to get it.
Unlike the whiners here video cards are not worth that kind of effort for me as much as I like PC gaming.
The last sentence in your quote reeks of semantics.
I bought mine close to MSRP as close as they were here in Canada. I still wouldn't spend over $500 $CAD on a video card as I play 1-2 games a year. I can see mining for me being done in some months. There won't be a reason for me to get the next gen stuff at these prices.
And Nigel is right.. if you can't walk into a store to buy a product it's probably not worth the effort

You know, you just sounded like someone else that got a warning in another thread. Just because you don't think an expenditure of time or money is worth it it does not follow that you can call someone a whiner.
So let's remember that people can make their own choices without the need of name calling. Considering that I gave that warning to someone that did this to you I'm very surprised to see you do it here.

Very poor earn rates this weekend. Quite PO since I won’t hit my 1300 bucks target it seems like.
After a record mon-thu, fri-sun were under the usual. BTC wise was great though. Changed into altcoins and making $ fast as everything climbs. Time to make some money boys!!

Bitcoin and eth dipped over the weekend and from what I understand eth gas was low as well. Was even worse for me because I convert earnings to monero and the price was up for that coin.
From what I've seen discussed online, when the July eth update hits earnings will typically be more in line with what we saw over last weekend.
Another day, four in a row now, with low gas. Looks like possibly a trend, four straight days, and will be even worse in July. Think 30-40 the new normal.

March was a great month. I went from $200 wallet balance to $755 wallet balance. I was expecting more in the incremental $380-400 mark, but with BTC climbing it helped increase the earning rate and also price effect. This is with me mining non stop except when gaming. Another major thing I did was to play on my 3070 PC and not on my 3090 PC. That meant bulk of the earning rate was non stop.
Very happy with the outcome. Next milestone is to hit about $1300 by end of April. If that happens my 3090 and 5900X PC incremental cost will be fully paid up.
April report. A shorter month and a few dimes below but BTC kicked back higher. Instead of hitting the 1300 caps that I wanted I hit 1200. It is still not bad. Just a few bucks short of paying up my 5900X/3090 system.
So in May one PC will be paid up and then the long haul to extract another 1430 bucks for my son's rig. Can't complain. I haven't played games on my 5900X/3090 for 2+ months now. The 10700/3070 is a very capable combo and does all that I need for my gaming needs thus far. I strongly suggest anyone looking for an upgrade to buy one of the pre-builts going on the egg for close to $2K. They will have a 10700KF and a 3070. Once overclocked both will give you a gaming experience that will fit most needs at 1440P.

Same, I beat Witcher3, Horizon Zero dawn, RDR2, then stopped gaming, it just mines 24/7 now. No good games like those out now. A few more cards need to ROI still, but if I count the gains in trades in currencies, I've made it back already. ETH will pump big by July, I'm hoping it somewhat makes up for the cut in mining revenue.
