Nice got a block! You guys got your GPU memory overclocked right? Seems to do the most damage for me.
Yah I was real happy when I saw it find the block. Felt like celebrating even though the reward is the same. My wife for some reason didn't seem to think it was a big deal?
The algos I've been mining on the 1080ti don't benefit from memory overclocks. I've been keeping my memory at -400 and overclocking the core.
Man I am just running this whole thing like a nub. I just use Nicehash and disabled 5/15 algos. I am not overclocking. These
Cards are running 24/7 and I plan to keep them for a couple of years.
The gays at Aramex (carrier) called and I will have 2 SC2 Hybrids by today evening.
Now to see if I can fool Amazon and they can chalk it up to insurance so I can have 2 free 1080 Ti cards
Btw good idea to run 4 cards a pop on a 1000 W psu? I am thinking no but Whattomine says my max usage shouldn't be more than 1520 watts total for 8 cards.

Implying the delivery company wouldn't rat you out :E
Nobody backs Aramex into a corner. The only one taking a fall is you and your main rig when you slip on your tile bathroom floor/computer room :D

Was looking at pricing for GTX 1070 cards and wow what is the point. You may as well just spend the extra on a 1080 ti at that point. $200+ over MSRP on a $499 card. Not only no but **** no.
Best in mining is 1070 Ti and that is why you can buy it for a measly 750 bucks in most places.
I am so glad I didn't get shafted on pricing on my 1080 Tis. 1000 bucks for seahawks delivered to my door and 920 for hybrids that are coming in today.
Can't complain.
Anyone buying 1080 Ti at over a 1000 is a moron since at 1000 the ROI is already 7.5 months if you are lucky and 10 months if markets don't go much above 10K per BTC with the rising difficulty that I notice everyday.
Well at this point I'd like to pick up one more GPU since I have a spare 150-180w. I'm not in a hurry and I want to get something for at or near MSRP this time around. So for a 1080ti no more than about 849$ absolute max.

Can easily snag a 1080 ti at that price. Keep looking nowinstock.net
Well my SC2 hybrids arrived so I cancelled my FTW Hybrid. So far so good. It seems my predator is out of water as my CPU shoots up to 95 C when my case is upright but remains 45 C when it is on its side.

I have tried a lot to keep the rads in line. I can probably do it but I am awaiting my fans for a proper push/pull. Once that happens I will do a proper straight line for the rads.

Right now highest rad is at 55/57 C and lowest is in the mid 40s. Summer is coming mofos. I would rather push/pull and keep my A/C at 24 C than put it on 22 C to get the same effect.

Heat is heat. No matter how many fans you have it will release the same amount of heat. Won't adding more fans just makes it louder and use more energy. 55C is a great temp to run at.
What more do you want to accomplish with the push/pull?

Heat is heat but doing push/pull would dissipate it from the rads much faster than not having push/pull.
This whole thing is becoming a money sink. I added the 7th card in the rig and it was running fine until it wasn't. I saw a couple of reboots in the event viewer as I was surprised that mining was paused when I logged on.
So it seems it was the PSU crapping out. I swapped that card onto the other PSU and it seems to be running fine. Meanwhile my Predator is about to die. Given what I faced with the pump in the night yesterday, I no longer trust it to continue functioning and it has already leaked once prior and busted 4 ram slots on my MB.
So now I am left with a couple of options.
1) Keep things as they are and cancel the incoming fans, nuts, bolts and crap to run additional 7 fans on the radiators. Only cost will be 55 bucks to replace the corsair squeaky blower fan.
2) Buy a 850 W PSU that will drive 2 cards in an 8 card rig. It will be hooked onto the board and will run 2 cards whilst the other 2 PSUs run 3 cards. I keep things ugly but I completely rid my main gaming rig of this mining curse and only run the 9th card when comp is idle. Add LED fans in push/pull. I would also not spend money to change the predator rad on my main comp as I wouldn't need to move the PC at all in the near future. Total damage about 400.
3) Do everything in number 2. Move the 8th card in the RIG. Add a 3rd PSU. Add all LED fans for push/pull. Keep main rig and change the radiator at the top w/ a Corsair H150i Pro.
All of the stuff in number 3 will cost me about additional 600 bucks.
NVM. Went with option 3. Can't risk my main rig getting fried because of the predator and I need to move this one GPU down to the RIG and need more power.
I've been pretty lucky so far. Other than dealing with miner client crashes because of unstable overclocks I've had pretty much zero issues so far.
Makes me wonder if I'd be pushing my luck trying to get a sixth GPU in the rig with an m.2 riser. Worst case if it didn't work I could always just put it upstairs in this computer which is down to one GPU right now.
Was home all day yesterday and didn't see much come up on nowinstock that was desirable. Missed a preorder on amazon for a $749 zotac amp - should've jumped on that. 5% cash back on the amazon card and it was only a week out from ship. Oh well.
KAC, you're probably well aware of this...but you really should consider dialing things down a bit if you're running the cards wide open and creating some overhead in your power supplies as Curio mentioned. Have to get ahead of this and mine a bit more conservatively for long term stability.
At this rate, that ROI time is being extended quite a bit. Good luck! Can't imagine dealing with all that hardware like you guys are doing. It's impressive how everyone gets the equipment stable 24/7.

Yes that is why I am getting another PSU. I am also fixing my radiator in main rig and as summer is coming adding another 8 fans.
As for PSU to be honest it was always intended for a 6 card setup. I got the other two cards on a whim and so I am now adding more power to the whole thing.
The only unexpected thing was my predator crapping out on me. It is working fine for now but I don’t trust it. For now all my systems are online and stable making some 40-45 bucks a day.
Yeah that's why I went overkill on my PSU's - didn't want to come even close to pushing them since I'll be running this for years
When I was looking the PSU you have was 339 a pop.
I spent 199 each on the plats and now 119 on the gold. I know this is quite comfortable setup for the 3 PSUs. I have even split the MOBO over the two PSUs, I.e. one is powering the CPU and other is providing the auxiliary power.
I didn’t want to spend a grand on PSUs to be honest.
