Radeon 2600 HD Pro and Vista

When using XP I have no problems and the computer responce time is normal, but Vista (both 32 and 64) are a different story. The computer becomes unusable after the drivers are installed as the responce time slows down to a crawl. After uninstalling the drivers the responce time is normal with no problems. Any ideas and help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
