    modify a firegl to radeon?

i have a firegl x1-128, and now i upgraded to Vista, firegl x1-128 didn't have a vista driver, but its radeon equivalent - 9700p had one, i have to force the CATALYST beta driver for Vista package installed as a Radeon 9700 Pro, but in my acknowledgement, in this way, catalyst is not fully working while the OpenGL didn't work, the catalyst driver simply disables that on a firegl, am i right?

i'm tired finding patches/modified drivers, so i'm wondering if modifing a firegl to radeon is possible? just move the resistor backward according to the radeon -> firegl hardware modify guide? is that enough? did i miss sth? will i miss the secondary DVI output?

the question might be stupid, and sorry for my bad english, i'm a new guy here, just registered because this is the only forum i can find which has a firegl discussion board, thx for your patient to read this...

    Install the omega drivers

    here : http://www.omegadrivers.net

It certainly works with my FireGL 8800, although I tend to prefer the FireGL specific drivers.

What I'd *really* like, is the ability to switch between the two, but I'm not holding my breath..
