Mobility FireGL T2.. VPU Recover?

I'm about to buy an IBM T41p with the Mobility FireGL T2 128MB. And as I make an investment in this notebook, I want it to be future proof. I heard Longhorn uses DirectX9 and requires the graphic card to be able to reset itself. I was wondering if the FireGL Drivers contain the VPU Recover function. Does anybody know anything? Any comments/recommendations about me buying the T41p are welcome. Thanks
