    FireGl t2 128 replacing 9700pro, need tweaks

Here is an update of what I have found concerning this card (FireGL T2-128)

    - ATITool and Radlinker work to overclock the card. ATITool can automatically set the clocks and determined optimum speeds to be 465/317. Radlinker allows running without locking up to at least 485/324. I haven't tried higher. Neither Rage3D or RivaTuner worked with my card.

    - I am not able to add the FDD power because of missing components ("Modified BBA" PCB).

-Voltage mods for the 9600Pro should work on this card.

    -Memory (K4D263238E-GC33 ) is rated for 300MHz running at 2.5V ± 5%

-The ATI Information TAB reports my cards stock speeds to be 398/297

FireGL T2 seems to be based on the 9600Pro. Some 9600Pro's feature connector pads and components for FDD power and faster memory than my particular card.

I will be checking voltages and possibly performing the voltage mod. If the voltage mod is pursued, I will be swapping out the stock cooling for something more substantial.

Most importantly, It works fairly decent with IDEAS.

What to do now? Mod my 9700 Pro (voltaqe and SoftGL) to run with IDEAS or optimize the T2-128...

What CAD programs are you running? Your solution might be just to mod the drivers to the firegl x1. On top of that i have found no issues between the major cad vendors and a radeon 9700. Really the only problem i have noticed is the computer becomes unstable after open 20 or more windows of autodesk inventor or some other program.

        Update

Found my 9700 pro to be the better performer and decided to trade the T2 in for an X1. Now that I have the X1, started thinking about modding a 9800 to a fireGL isntead.

        Anyone interested in a trade?
