    SoftFireGL and quad buffering

Is it possible to enable? I saw in ATI's page that only the X1 256p supported Quad buffering. Anyone know i registry-tricks or something is possible to enable this? Just think true stereo support in OpenGL on ATI..

If the card you have has the stereo port on the back of it you can enable this option from the fireGL control panel in display-> settings. I believe the stereo port is only on the FireGL x1-256p. Like with the X2 i can not use this option.

It's a softmodded Radeon 9800 PRO, so no extra ports. Just wondered if it was possible to trick the drivers into thinking there was a port/forcing quad buffering for stereo glasses.. When it's possible to trick the drivers into thinking my card is a FireGL X2, it mus be possible to enable quad buffering?

the fireGL X2 does not support stereo quad buffering because it does not have a stereo port. I can enable quad buffering stereo on my fireGl X2 and it does nothing. it only works on the fireGL X1-256p card. You can mod the radeon 9800 Pro to support the driver features of the fireGl series however i don't think it is possible to modify the hardware features the cards have. So if it doesn't have the stereo port than i doubt it's possible to trick the card into thinking another port is a stereo port. Anyways i have a radeon 9800 pro as well and it has a stereo port, was yours BBA?

Mine is PBA I think, although it looks the same as the BBAs.. It's a HIS Excalibur 9800 PRO..

Are you sure it's a stereo port and not a TV-out port?

I have connection for the glasses (Elsa 3D Revelator). My glasses use a y-cable(vga->vga+connector for glasses). They worked with quad buffering on a Ti4600 softmodded to Quadro4. Thought quad buffering was the same on all cards ("standardised" in OpenGL, or something like that?), meaning that you could connect various kinds of shutter glasses to the video card?
