    Acer E1-572G only 4x PCIE for R7 M265

    Hi

    A friend of mine bought this laptop but it has 1tb WDC hdd.The CPU and VGA are the same:

    I installed W7 x64 on it with 14.9 drivers and i saw a weird stuff in CCC/Graphics settings (on laptop).
    So i gone in "Information" and in "Hardware Home" and:
    Graphics Bus Capability is displayed as "PCI Express 3.0"
    and
    Maximum Bus Capability is displayed as "PCI Express 2.0 4x"

    Why only 4x and not 16x or at least 8x ?

    Can anyone enlighten me please ?

    Because your dGPU is not in use. When activated and in use, it will switch to X8

      Hmm...
      So i suppose i shouldn't compare them to the desktop one..
      My radeon 6950 do not lower the bus when it's slightly used..With with laptop dual GPU (intel one and amd/nvidia) things may be different..I should test this theory next time..
      Run a game and alt-tab and see if the bus is still 4x
