    A8-7600 A paper lauch

Looks like AMD is waiting on launching the 45w good deal:

    http://www.extremetech.com/computing...k-to-late-2014

Late 2014??? OEMs maybe getting some earlier but really? Once launched it would almost be time for the next iteration of AMD APU, which obviously will be pushed back.

I can't help but believe AMD APU sells have tanked to OEMs and retail. This launch is not going well for AMD.

I'm sure you've already thought of this but most people look at raw numbers, bigger = better. The sad fact that AMD can't or won't compete on that level with Intel has helped put them where they are today. If AMD had found a way to combine the FX line with the R7 250 onboard for Kaveri this generation would have been a no brainer. The 7850 is a lovely processor, does it's job well, and helps keep the cost down for a less than 'buy everything on release date' gamer.

Sadly the people like me who don't have time for gaming as much aren't where the big money is and in all honesty if I wanted to afford an i7 with the latest GPU I would have.

I also have a theory there is something wrong with current FM2+ BIOS across the board. I've read too many forums where people can't get things running at their specced speed for little to no reason aside 'AMD imc's suck.'

I really wonder what is going on with them as a company right now.

No really news about much of anything, a lot of silence while the community is left to ponder and speculate. No new CPUs scheduled for release for the foreseeable future, a botched launch of their latest APUs, drivers for their GPUs twirling the crapper... it's got me stumped as from the outside looking in they are in such a position to be doing so much more, yet they're not!

I do hope their silence is simply to "wow" all of us with a new release of some sort, that they're cooking up something major, something big.

A fantasy I've always had is that they'd get bought up by the likes of IBM, but IBM made it clear they wanted out of the consumer HW market some years ago. I keep hoping maybe IBM will change their stance, snatch up AMD, and then with their nearly infinite resources and insane experience build up some amazing new products to pump out. I really think such an acquisition would give Intel serious cause for concern. That'd be two titans slugging it out, and I really think IBM could deliver some awesome products to compete with Intel and nVidia very successfully.

Oh, it is a fantasy though. I just hope all is going well over at camp AMD.

AMD keeps on pushing gaming, wait these processors are more ideal for Offices and office work. How about a choice between a game or an Office application may it be video/paint program/Word/etc. Doctors offices with big monitors where they can show their patients results, images progress etc.

Hey 3 monitors are so ideal for so many applications in an office it isn't even funny, yet it is only pushed for gaming it seems . How do you make an office more efficient? Having 3 people with three separate computers and single monitor or a very efficient person with 3 monitors .

I've seen our accountant on a 17" monitor with multiple programs opened, flipping through window after window. I finally convinced the plant manager to upgrade her monitor to something more reasonable. 24" which I feel is too small and limiting for what she does. If she had two or three screen she would be way more efficient and productive.

AMD focus can be both and beyond. AMD older APUs are also very ideal for office computers which AMD could start packaging Office Evolved solutions of some sort.

AMD nailed the consoles, no bars hold. Doing very good in graphics. APU's are just not being promoted as well as they could and put in configurations ideally suited for them. Games are not ideally suited for APUs in general and APUs become limiting when you start using higher end discrete cards.

APUs allow very simple configurations, small size - there should be a much wider bunch of mITX boards out there, small cases that really pack a punch for an office that blows Intel away for the price. To compete with Intel you need an I3 plus a discrete card of some sort which puts Intel's solution way over the cost of AMD (unless you buy a Kavari which I think is over priced). Get rid of BF3 or allow some other options but most of all get the price down.

No 45w Kavari at this time!!! Get the old stock cleared out, take a beating in the short term not the long term. Seeing the old APUs around tells everyone they are not selling! Folks don't want them etc. Bad for business. Get them in cheap but good systems.

Now if AMD is near 20nm production of APUs and surprise us all that would be absolutely perfect! Go AMD!!!

IBM seems more interested with the likes of ARM over x86/x64.
