    Lenovo G505s - A10 5750M (8650G) impressions

So I was in the market for a new laptop and pulled the trigger on this model. Got it from Micro Center for about $480 I believe. Added an Intel 530 240GB SSD for $170 and swapped out Windows 8 for Windows 7 Home Premium (another $100). I've ordered a 16GB G.Skill C9 1600 RAM kit for another $115 or so. Haven't played too many games yet but color me impressed! This thing has greater gaming performance than my wife's 18 month old Asus with an Ivy Bridge i7 and a GT 630 2GB. I imagine that will only get better when I install the RAM.

I like the keyboard and the touchpad as well, both are very smooth and take minimal effort, even the scrolling gesture works as intended unlike most laptops I've used. Sound volume and quality are also better than average in my opinion. The screen is not bad either, despite the low resolution. Colors aren't washed out and the black/white levels are decent, leaning more towards the white side though.

Kudos AMD and Lenovo! I would definitely recommend this laptop to anyone in the market for an affordable laptop that's capable of playing games at medium settings @ native screen resolution (1366x768).
Praise be to the God and father of our lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Looks like a great laptop for the money. I am waiting on Kavari before I buy another laptop with a 15.7" screen but it has to be at least 1080p or better. Preferably IPS but that is asking a tall order. HP has some great customizations taking a base model and adding items to it.
    Ryzen 1700x 3.9ghz, Thermaltake Water 2.0 Pro, Asus CrossHair 6 Hero 9, 16gb DDR4 3200 @ 3466, EVGA 1080 Ti, 950w PC pwr & cooling PS, 1TB NVMe Intel SSD M2 Drive + 256mb Mushkin SSD + 512gb Samsung 850evo M.2 in enclosure for Sata III and 2x 1tb WD SATA III, 34" Dell " U3415W IPS + 27" IPS YHAMAKASI Catleap. Win10 Pro

    Custom SFF built case, I7 6700k OC 4.4ghz, PowerColor R9 Nano,, 1TB NVMe Intel SSD M2 Drive, 16gb DDR 4 3000 Corsair LPX, LG 27" 4K IPS FreeSync 10bit monitor, Win 10

Same, waiting on the Kaveri laptops. Going to be fairly impressive. But I was looking at this laptop and not too shabby for the cost.

Just wanted to toss out there, seen some MSI laptops that come with the A105750 and a 8970M.

What and odd set up. For the minor price difference (~100) you may as well get a i5/i7 with the 8970m and have a HUGE performance difference.

Yeah agree there, the apu combined with a lower cost GPU in Dual Mode gives some great bang per buck but once you start putting in the higher end GPU's the GPU in the APU starts to be worthless and takes up space which could have been used for more cpu power.

Except it lets you game on battery without killing it in minutes. The apu can do the work and let the big card rest when not plugged in. Intel integrated are piss poor compared to AMD. I do understand, that if it is a desktop replacement, you should go intel, but if you want to use it mobile a lot then go with an APU.

I do like those type of options, just using the APU can give some decent gaming on a number of games and an added GPU even more when needed.

Very interested in seeing what Mantle will do for the laptop side of gaming. Probably hit and miss depending upon the game but when it hits it will probably be out of the park type performance increase.
