The socket FM2+ is the new socket for AMD A-series APU's, and is backwards compatible with existing FM2 A-series APU's (An-5000 and and An-6000 series). You will need to update the BIOS when new FM2+ APU's launch to be able to use them.
Note FM2+ APU's will not work in current FM2 mobo's - you'll need socket FM2+ and this can't be upgraded via firmware/BIOS.
