Sony PS4 is semi-custom AMD APU with Jaguar x86, enhanced GCN cores, 8GB GDDR5
Sony announced the new PS4, and it's based on an APU. My guess (and it's a little bit informed) is it's an AMD Jaguar architecture APU with 8 cores, enhanced GCN architecture GPU, with 8GB of unified GDDR5.
Backwards compatibility is provided by GaiKai, stream your games to your PS or Vita and the Vita can act as a second screen for your PS4 as well. A custom chip inside allows standby and background updating and installing.
