Rock on!! Good to see such fast releases!

Little note though: Your pics show Ati FireGl Mobility 7500, should be 7800 (for the FireGL).

Second thing is a question, is there support for the Ati FireGL Mobility T2? (it just came out, download the mobile comparison pdf file from www.atitech.com and it's listed at the top. Also the Hp/Compaq nw8000 currently utilizes it).

Thanks, and keep up the awesome work!! We all appreciate it!!!!!!!

Oh quick other question, does this enable powerplay + overdrive for the M10 series?

        Pretty swanky work there David

I would probably use it if I had a laptop heh

When are you going to support the Win9x drivers?

to dmantoine, when someone finds a driver which supports all the mobility series.

I'm sorry, but 98/Me and 2K/XP driver inf formats are 100% incompatible, so...

Forgive my ignorance, but how would I go about upgrading my current ATI drivers on my Compaq X1010US? Do I need to uninstall the current drivers first, or should I just install the new drivers (3.8) and then tweak? I'm simply not familiar with notebook driver upgrades like this. I know Compaq says I should only use their drivers as they are tweaked for my specific screen, is there any truth to that?

Again, forgive my ignorance, but I assume this handles widescreen notebook too?

Questions, questions, and more questions. Sorry to be a bit of a pain...

You should download the drivers, extract, modify with MobileMod then install.

??? Since I mod them by hand I guess they do. Besides my own laptop, with M7500, I've also done this for an IGP340 and that did work fine too.

Yes, it would be some work, but is it an obstacle?

Well, i've not yet found a single driver for 9200/9600 and Windows 98/Me, and besides, the quantity of users with that config is extremely low, and it would hard to get proper beta testing.

                                  - The hardest thing about getting a Mac is telling your parents that you're gay.

                                  - If I had the choice between being gay and owning a Mac, I would rather be gay, because if I owned a Mac I would be both gay and own a horrible computer.

                                  - Imagine a giant cock flying towards your mouth, and there's nothing you can do about it. And you're like "Oh man, I'm gonna have to suck this thing", and you brace yourself to suck this giant cock. But then, at the last moment, it changes trajectory and hits you in the eye. You think to yourself "Well, at least I got that out of the way", but then the giant cock rears back and stabs your eye again, and again, and again. Eventually, this giant cock is penetrating your gray matter, and you begin to lose control of your motor skills. That's when the giant cock slaps you across the cheek, causing you to fall out of your chair. Unable to move and at your most vulnerable, the giant cock finally lodges itself in your anus, where it rests comfortably for 4, maybe 5 hours. That's what using Mac OSX is like.

Is there any way to modify the professional fireGL drivers to be installed on a normal radeon card (MR7500) using this utility?

In some cases, yes, other cases no.

One thing is certain, you will get your drivers without all the extra bullsh*t - and without ANY INF tweaks like Omega does.

Great App! Worked like a charm and now I can run the 3.8 cats on my notebook so I can play games at work! Might be a bad thing but I will try anything once or until I get caught. IBM was so far behind on there video drivers updates and they had very limited control pannel. All is well now. Thanks again.

                                                    re:nvidia

For nvidia it is simple. download and unzip drivers (decompress via running .exe).

then just using windows device manager, update driver, and select the compatible desktop card. i.e. Geforce4go 440 = Geforce 4 mx 440.

                                                    Easy as pie.

Great application, works like a charm!!!

I do have some mixed results though.
First of all the modder works great, I can easily install the latest Catalyst drivers after modding it with this tool, so that is nice ofcourse.

Though the modded drivers don't really work 100% correctly. I have an Acer TravelMate 803 LMib and the drivers Acer supplies work fine (Catalyst 3.1 btw). If I mod the drivers with your tool, they work, but they introduce minor display corruption. It is like it is not working 100% correctly with the LCD on the notebook.

I read that ATi doesn't supply drivers for the mobility drivers because the can't support the wide variaty of LCD screens used on laptops, so it is the responsibility of the supplier to mod the drivers to fit the LCD.
I'm starting to think that that is why the modded drivers don't work correctly on my notebook.

Anyways this is not your fault ofcourse, you can't do much about it.
Just a warning, something to consider if you are modding your drivers for use with your notebook.

Again great work!! But I hope ATi will support the mobility in the future so hacking drivers will be a thing of the past.

Has anyone tested this on a Sony Vaio PCG-GRV680 w/ 64Mb Mobility Radeon 9000? If not, I'll post whether I have success or not... Trying to play Star Wars Galaxies on this machine with no luck... Scoured the net for days trying to find an updated driver... Even called Sony and cursed the support tech who said to keep checking the site. Buddy I've been checking the site for 4 months now...

                                                              YES!

I can now play SWG on my Sony Vaio PCG-GRV680! THanks sooooooooo much!

The normal display is somewhat hazy now, but the game works fine! I don't really care about pictures etc on this machine since I have a nice desktop for that stuff... When you have to get your gaming fix on the go that other stuff doesn't matter so much.

Works great, Catalyst 3.9 2thumbs up! Like I said my display is a little hazy now (looking at default WinXP background) but thats fine by me. This is my gamin laptop (well after i take care of those remote clients...) and I am happy that I can use the onboard video for what I bought it for now.

                                                              D-Force you rool.. Nice work.

I'm VERY new to all this, so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question. I have a Sony GRX600P w/ a Radeon 7500 32M.

I have DL'd the mobliemod4 program, but I'm unable to locate my driverset then when I cancel out of the load it tells me a bunch of stuff and says Driver can be modified. I click modify now and I get a "Can not write to"

                                                                Can someone help?

                                                                      3. Press modify now.

I used Driver cleaner to clean out all the file for my mobility. Uninstalled the card from system profile and restarted. It just starts the system up with an adapter called VGAsave.

I have tried wrestling around with it and I just can't seem to get it to install this mythical standard VGA adapter driver.

So no CAT 3.9's for me :-(
