HIS Radeon HD 5870 iCooler V Turbo Video Card Review

Today, Rage3D takes a look at a custom ATI Radeon HD 5870 design from Hightech Information System Limited - better known as HIS. HIS came to prominence in 2003 with their custom cooled ATI Radeon 9800PRO using the IceQ cooler - introducing cooling design principles that lives on in many aftermarket and OEM cooling designs today.

The card under investigation today is the HIS HD 5870 iCooler V Turbo 1GB (256bit) GDDR5 PCIe (DirectX 11/ Eyefinity) (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Game Coupon Inside) card ... whew, that's a mouthful! For simplicity's sake, we'll shorten it to the HIS HD 5870 iCooler V Turbo in this review, okay? Aggressively factory overclocked with a non-standard heatsink and fan design, this card will need to stand out from a strong existing ATI partner custom line up, including HIS' own ATI Radeon HD 5870 products, such as the HIS HD 5870 iCooler V MW2.
