One of the first things we wanted to find out was 'can you CrossFireX a GHz Edition and a normal 7970?', so both went into the chassis and we installed the drivers. AMD is well known for their greater flexibility in multi-GPU supported configurations, but the combination of boost and non-boost might be stretching things. Rather to our surprise, we got the 'Enable CrossfireX' pop up, but then an error message - insufficient Crossfire connectors installed! So we upped from one to two, and voila! CrossFireX between GHz Edition and non-GHz Edition Radeon HD 7970s. Sweet.
