Technical Specs
Whenever someone discusses speakers the first thing that they say is: "it has (insert number) watts!!" However, these figures have proven to be very misleading. What one company may consider 100 watts in this scenario may indeed be 75, or even 125 to another. This is what they refer to as peak power. It is the maximum number of watts that these systems are able to output in theory and it is definitely not a reliable way to measure the power of speakers. Due to this, Logitech calculates their watts in a more useful manner using RMS. RMS stands for root-mean-square, this is used to calculate a more precise power rating that the speakers will produce under normal - everyday circumstances.
I'd also like to mention that this system is THX certified. At first I was quite weary about THX certification. I did not know whether it was just a way of marketing the product or an actual specification or test that a product must endure. After some research it was clear that this is definitely not a marketing scheme. In order to become THX certified they must perform through a detailed testing process.
