The Cooler Master Elite 430 Black takes a lot of the best design from the High Air Flow (HAF) series and squeezes it in the Mid-Tower form-factor and price range. As an enthusiast platform base it has a lot of good features and options. The large window and complete coverage paint make for a very aesthetically pleasing case for your next build. It's sturdy and of good quality build, and the additional filters are a welcomed touch. The mesh design allows for adequate air circulation through convection without additional fans. It would be great to see a Case and PSU combo with a ~450W Cooler Master Real Power series PSU, including rear exhaust and window fans, for about $90USD.

Missing from the case are a few little niggles. An extra 1/2" above the mainboard would allow for a cutout for hidden routing of the EPS 12v/4-pin motherboard power cable, and give room for deep 120mm fans. An extra 1/2" behind the mainboard tray would leave enough room to hide unused power cables, too. These increases in size would also allow a 140mm rear fan mount. The motherboard tray isn't removable, but rarely are in this price range. The feet are snap in instead of screw in, so replacing with roller feet (like the new HAF X) would be problematic. There's no FireWire or eSATA header, and an extra front USB header wouldn't hurt. The really inexcusable absences are the lack of 2.5" drive mounting options for that SSD you've been eyeing, and the always on LED for the front fan. A rear exhaust fan should also be included.

Rage3D awards Cooler Master Elite 430 Black 4 1/2 stars! Excellent design creates a spacious environment for your build in a compact form factor. High cooling potential and great looks give it everything you need for creating a solid computing platform. Head to head against the Antec 300 I would pick the Elite 430 for it's extra space and PSU filter.
