![]() This news doesn't surprise me too much. Microsoft announced Friday that Windows 10 will be the only version of Windows supported on future CPUs and chipsets. The company will continue to support Windows 7 and 8.1 on older hardware for the next several years, as promised by its support policy. Source: The Tech Report

![]() I understand Microsoft's goal of unifying the OS across as many computers for home and business as possible. They just seem to be taking the most obnoxious way of getting the point across. Makes one wonder if they really DO have an agenda with our data, etc. |

![]() Such a moot point to me at this point in my life. I run windows 7 and will at some point upgrade to 10 but it doesn't matter if I have support or not on an older OS.

If there is a tighter integration with AMD and Intel with some instruction sets AND benefits users, I'm OK with it to a degree. Primarily IF those instructions sets are completely open. |

Google has mastered this and, in a sense, is emergent. Microsoft realizes this and, while late to the game, has the resources to eventually become competitive. Everyone wants your data: the more they know about you, the easier it is to manipulate you and acquire power over you. Be it wealth or the power of suggestion.
