NGOHQ.com previews ATI Catalyst 9.11:

AMD has released a new build of their Catalyst software suite through their developer website. This particular software suite updates both the AMD Display Driver, and the Catalyst Control Center. This unified driver has been further enhanced to provide the highest level of power, performance, and reliability. The AMD Catalyst software suite is the ultimate in performance and stability. This driver came from the latest ATI Stream SDK and it includes OpenCL support.

These are the same ones from 10/13? I dont see anything updated on the AMD developer page??? Maybe I'm missing something or NGOHQ just wants some traffic??

Yes, these are the same ones from 10/13. It was published because it wasn't published anywhere else (officially) and it is the recommended driver for the latest version of DirectCompute Benchmark.

Isn't there supposed to be some kind of "major performance boost" for the 5800 series with the 9.11 or 9.12 cats?

9.9 HATED my 4850s (especially Crossfire... the first game I ran after booting up was garbled to hell) and 9.10 doesn't seem any better (and Crossfire is still screwed for me). Hopefully 9.11 will be an improvement or I'm going to forever be stuck with 9.8 and not get needed Crossfire profile updates .

I wish AMD would have a separate profile updater/utility from the drivers so you can just keep them up to date without having to change drivers (if that's even possible).

I think it might get held for 9.12 or even 10.1 possibly. I'm thinking AMD is sitting on some extra performance to rain on Fermi's parade a bit. It's more strategic then technical for the reasons why at this point I'm thinking.
