Official Catalyst 3.4 Thread

HERE IT IS, what everyone has been waiting for. The delay was due to the fact that GI Bro has come to visit me today at work and has slowed me down all day with his continual "lets go get a coffee" routine.

Nonetheless now the 3.4's are available and there will be updates to:

1) the driver
2) the Multimedia Center
3) the remote wonder

For anyone who has a RADEON 9500, 9600, 9700 or 9800 make sure you head over to www.divx.com for a RADEON enhanced version of their player.

Also make sure you check out all the new stuff in Multemedia Center (EAZYLOOK) is really cool for the home PC concept

oh ya and did I mention there a few performance boosts and some bug fixes spread throughout

GTA Vice City Seems to run allot smoother IMHO

And overall IQ seems a lot sharper again IMHO.. Great work ATI (Mr Catalyst Maker you have won the bet now guy's change your sig's

Looks like the Escape bug was fixed.... but the FPS problem everyone was experience is there and worse then ever... Instead of going from 100->50fps, it now goes from 100-40fps.
Tons of people are having the problem.... but it's obviously not an issue for ATI, from the responses we've gone. I could have lives with the escape bug... but I can't play in CAL with this problem. Sorry guys.
I will give it another 10 days for a fix, if not im getting a ti4800SE.

Like dementor, I too am experiencing unacceptable framerates in Half-Life. I loaded up Half-Life, loaded the final level, and at 800x600 with all opengl image quality settings reduced to minimum, I'm getting a whopping 48 fps.

I have the screenshot if anyone wants it.

I really hate to be amongst the first slinging complaints this soon after a driver release... but I feel I have amply demonstrated a problem, and have allowed more than enough time to see it fixed.

I'm quite disappointed.

I dont want to sound like a jerk here, but for pete's sake Half life is how old? 5 years? Trying playing games that came out two years ago or less.

I am not saying that ATI should not have to support them......but dang I cant get a VCR tape to work in my Sony DVD player at home.

I mean what was a hot system when Half Life came out? P2-350, with 64megs of ram an a Diamond Monster 3DFX 1 card, using DX3 and Windows 95?

Congrats on the release, not tested much yet.

Something that bother me though is that there still isnt OpenGL-Refreshrate override included. Is that feature still sheduled to be included sometime. Can you tease me a bit by throwing some hints?
