Windows XP Display Drivers Recommended Driver - CATALYST™ 02.1
Driver Build 6.13.10.6094
7.72-020524M-004273C
Posted June 13, 2002

This is a fully released and supported display driver for Windows XP. DirectX 8.1 and OpenGL support are included.

The Capture Driver bundle is also required in order to obtain appropriate capture support for ALL-IN-WONDER products.
jeez how hard is it to include the capture drivers too :?

LOL! Not quite the kind of opening response i wanted from the first person who has posted about these drivers. Anyway i just installed them, radeon VE dual head, enabled dual display strech desktop on my win2k machine at 1600x1280 75Hz, all seems well. Visual quality is as good as ever. Can't bench, i'm at work, i think you better reinstall you Windows.

I saw in another thread that they changed the INF file... so someone will have to figure out how to get it working and re-write that how-to for us powered by guys.

Unhappy

shahensha -> too bad

I tried the drivers in Jedi Knight II and it seems a bit buggy (lighting-wise) but textures seem sharper...kind of a mixed bag :/

Well, the jury is still out, maybe others will be more impressed with this driver set. But my gut tells they are selling us the same old stuff with a shiny new exterior.

One visible improvement is SVCD compliant capture in MMC 7.7.

Anisotropic filtering is unsuported for 7200.

Powered by ATI users Can use these drivers without any hack to the .inf.

Taken from the FAQ about Catalyst here.

Q17: Do I have to have a "Built by ATI" graphics accelerator to use CATALYST?

A17: No. Both "Powered by ATI" and "Built by ATI" graphics accelerators can use the CATALYST software package.

should be ye... other wise ,ATI would be pretty stupid releasing the driver without this known issue fixed.. and does any one know how to change the inf file so i can install the official driver for my "powered by" card?
i mean, eveyone is talking about it and all, but how do u actually do it ? is it doable in this new driver?
but then again, is there that much of a difference between the reference driver and the offical driver?

Just downloading these now, my God, are ATI's servers slow or what!

Still does anyone know if Rage3D tweaker works properly with these drivers? In other words have ATI kept the same names for the registry tweaks e.g. Vsync, ansio etc. If they have changed the names of some or all of the registry entries then the tweaking utils won't work. So I guess the other question is if they are different does anyone have any idea what the new tweaks names are?
