Smile Radeon 64 and 7206 drivers

Hey guys,
this is my story: 64 VIVO (200/200) plus 7206 drivers for 8500 plus changed .inf-file for the proper install ( from the radeon2.ru... o'k, never mind ) and here we go:

3dmark2001 HPC 1 light: from 5.2 to 8.6 millions
HPC 8 lights: from 2.2 to 2.9 millions

I'm not shure about the same speed-up in real applications but IL-2 looks slightly faster...

yes, they definitely run a lot faster. I also see less jerking with them, than with any older driver between the 7189 and 7075 (which was still jerk-free for me).

The story is simple: 7206 drivers are not officially supporting Radeon, they have the atii9xag.inf-file (with the install information) with only 8500 family listed (I'm not shure about 7500 etc.), but it's possible to make a little cheat and install 7206 on conventional Radeon system. That's all...
Frankly, I think this is the last joke from the Radeon team - very stable drivers with great performance at the end of production, like flowers for the funeral. Generally I like what ATi is doing, but what a ...

P.S. The next good feature of 7206 is optimization for the DX 8.1

So, what's the cheat ?
Do you replace it with the .inf from a workin driver or what?

Guys, that's not so simple. There are some places in the inf-file structure where supported chips and appropriate files (with registry settings) listed. I can't tell you what exactly changed in the 7206 *.inf, it was made by people from radeon2.ru (our russian anofficial Radeon site). If you can't speak russian - search the net or tell me where to put this 28,6 kb.
