Thanks for the great read.
Really hoping for AMD's turn around. After reading this and xbit's article about Steamroller I'm hoping it will be the CPU I thought Bulldozer would be.

As much as I love AMD, I've learned to not get my hopes up regarding their CPUs. Intel has a pretty fair lead on them still. Can AMD roll out a magic chip? I'll answer that simply with- "K8". Am I expecting them to? Well, last time I expected it we got Barcelona. So, no.

That said, I am still rooting for them and hoping they do deliver this time.

K8 > Barcelona > Deneb
Deneb ends up being the Barcelona that was supposed to be.

Deneb/Thuban > Bulldozer > Piledriver
Piledriver becomes the Bulldozer that was supposed to be.

It'll probably end up being

Piledriver > Steamroller > Toodamnlate
Toodamnlate ends up being the Steamroller that was supposed to be.

I think it's probably not sensible to assume a company that has transformed internally at all levels of management will continue to execute in exactly the same manner as before.
