Default How to play Far Cry 3 WITHOUT UPlay?

As the title asks, how do I play Far Cry 3 without having to A: Create a UPlay account. B: Play Far Cry3 without an internet connection.

I received FC3 a a Christmas gift. I don't want to have to create yet another account for something just to play a GAME on MY PC.

Any input is welcome, including telling me to shut it and create a UPlay account.

It is kind of annoying to buy a game from Steam and still have to go through yet another service to play it. That's my only beef. I don't have an opinion on Uplay itself as I haven't really spent much time with the service.

Besides getting the keyboard drivers, probably not many options. uplay is still a baby compared to steam when it comes to features and maturity.

its probably easier to register for uplay then it is to go the other way anyways.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about buying Far Cry 3 but if that game needs another account just in order to play the game I'm not going to buy it. I'm tired of creating accounts just to play a game. I just hate this trend.

I too dislike having to launch uPlay before playing the game itself. When I found out Far Cry 3 involved uplay, I held off from playing for a full day, played NOLF2 instead.

I already had a uplay account (god knows what for, really), so I signed in, turned all features off and finished Far Cry 3 that way. Of course, the service did warn and signal that playing in off-line mode, without any uplay features, would end the world as I knew it but I played it anyway (NOT RECOMMENDED!!!, according to the uplay menu).

It's not about bending over. It's about how far you bend over.

Buy the console version.

No steam, uplay, origin, battlelog on those platforms.

Or deal with it, fc3 works offline.

Thanks everybody for the responses. I just bent over, lubed up since it was MY choice, and let them cornhole me. It wasn't too uncomfortable. I had to update to the latest Beta Catalysts and CAP to get it to run past 7/8 of the opening sequence. It would hard lock or black screen every time until I updated. Works fine now. Cool looking game so far. The main bad guy is intense. Great voice acting.

This made me smile. LOVED that you played NOLF 2. That game series is awesome. I'm STILL hoping and hoping they make a third title.

It''s funny how people who pay for the game gets all these inconveniences. The ones who use a crack regardless if it is legal or not, are the winners. First you had to mess with inserting CDs in order to annoy legal users, now they have found another way to annoy them even more with accounts. Soon they will force us to run around the house 5 times and pluck a hen before you can play the game.

Now that it´s been shown to be very popular and work out great, they all crawl out of their holes and think that if they also create similar services they´ll make as much money.
It´s kinda like everyone trying to make WOW clones after WOW hit so big with the logic of "then we can also have as many millions of subscribers".

I dont want 10 different logins. (and they all get hacked, so at some point you´ll be spending more time changing passwords them playing games)
I dont want 10 different clients.
I want to be able to buy Battlefield 3 on Steam, cause I have **** all use out of Origin outside of what is forced upon me if I want to play certain games.
If I could just launch assassins creed and play it on steam, without having to log in AGAIN, I would be that much happier.
I bought some AC game on steam and got as far as the UPlay login screen and just closed it out of sheer annoyance then and there, and have still not touched the game.
Bought Anno 2070 the other day and was hit by the same goddamn thing..
And then again with FC3.

It´s like the bullshit they pulled with the original Dawn of War 2, I login on steam, launch the game, then to play with my steam friends I have to walk them through the arcane process of getting on Games for Windows Live, for no good reason at all.
Then pop up a "fiends list" that is just a long ass list of people that have been in GFWL games (and 360 games I guesss) that I´ve played.
And then find the 2 people I acctually added myself in that list, and then they get the game invite as some sort of message in their normal inbox.
But they got rid of that nonsense in the expansion where you could just simply invite and join over steam.

And at the end of the day, the games are STILL readily available for those who wants to pirate them.
Noone wins, I loose.

Uplay is decent but not great yet.

Thing that annoys me is when I click on a Ubi game shortcut on my desktop, Uplay forces me to go through 2 more Uplay clicks instead of launching the game directly from the shortcut.

Didnt play GTA4, but I remember my brother having a ton o woes with it.

Some more annoyances, apparently I have spotty server connection atm, so everytime I want to hit ESC and go to the menu, I have to watch a "connecting to servers" screen for about 30 secs.

EVERY... TIME...

Launching the game from Steam took forever, looking at a "loading" thing for Uplay as that was trying to connect.
Then again when I launch the game from Uplay, cause now the game is stuck on "detecting network" for a really long time before I get into the game menu.

If only it was just that.. (ive acctually outlined the annoyances Im having in text above if you´re interested)
Im not getting anything out of all these "connecting" hold ups at every turn with this game, there is no trade off apparent to me here, it´s just worse in every way.

What are these very clear gains you feel you get out of this nonsense?

All these accounts for all kinds of 'services' that often add nothing but annoyances can be frustrating. Some people get more frustrated than others. On the one hand there are people who overreact; on the other there are those who fail to understand that not everyone wants multiple digital delivery services installed let alone running at the same time, adding additional layers between (in most cases) Steam and actually playing the game.

I understand the business end of publishers coming up with their own digital delivery platforms, and I even understand EA's stance that they'd rather not use Steam at all. But that doesn't mean I have to like it - not when Steam has become my platform of choice. In a way it's similar to consoles and exclusive titles: you want to play the games, but you don't necessarily want to buy all consoles to play them when one machine could theoretically suit all your needs.

It is, in essence, adware because the pages I need to go through are always pimping something. And I'd bet money they do this on purpose.

I DEMAND compensation for my wasted time. Big bag of 50's will do, ktksbye.
