So my brother picked this game up today and is now gone to Arizona for a few days so I get to enjoy it tonight. ![]() So far my impressions are this game is obviously very much inspired by God of War and other hack n' slash games but that's by no means a bad thing. The story is relatively basic stuff, you're War one of the 4 horsemen, betrayed by someone and stripped of your powers, out for revenge, etc... So far it's a good game. There is enough of a story to feel compelled to see what's gonna happen next. There are a TON of weapon upgrades and customizations from what I can see. You fight with a basic sword, can use an alternate weapon (I'm using this scythe looking thing) and you have items you can acquire for things like health, plus you have magic to use for AoE attacks and such. If you like a good hack n' slash with weapon upgrades, you'll be very content with Darksiders. If I had to level a complaint at this game so early into it, I'd have to say the image tearing is horrible. It's somewhat distracting and I wish there was a way to make it easier on the eyes. The controls also don't feel like they have a solid responsiveness that titles like God of War have. Not saying that they feel clumsy, it just doesn't feel as refined. Other than that I have no real gripes. This game is excellent so far, the visuals while not mind blowing are enough (minus the image tearing issue). A definite B+ title and worth giving a shot if you're at all interested in the genre.

I picked it up yesterday but haven't had a chance to play it yet. It also came with some "mysterious code" that they haven't told anyone what its for. ![]() |

I'm at the first boss and its driving me nuts. I was playing on a monitor and graphically its just ok. War and his sword do remind me of Arthas and Frostmourne. Right now it reminds me a lot of God of War. |

There isn't any tearing on the PS3 version of the game. The tearing problem on the 360 should be patched shortly, though: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/105/1058958p1.html I just finished the story portion this afternoon and can say that I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the game. The game references many other successful titles for various gameplay elements, but that is by no means a bad thing. Overall I would highly recommend this game.

I'm at that demon dragon with boobs boss part. What a tough bitch to beat. Wished it had a bit more God of War feel to it though...I love to see the crazy animations in God of War when you are beating a massive boss and you have to press a certain sequence of buttons to take it down. Otherwise it's a pretty cool game.

Pretty ok game. Ending is pretty interesting too. I managed not to get bored with it, but combat feels a bit slow to me (after playing bayonetta ofc -_-) Too bad there's not much replay value as I got the special armor, most health and most rage... Didn't bother with immolation and the virus thing, wonder if they were any good, lol.

Some of those puzzles were just nuts in the game. Not saying it's a bad thing...I found 'em some of them tough to crack. Nice story line...guess they will be making Darksiders 2. Oh and it was awesome to confirm that the "Watcher" was voiced by Mark Hamill.

Don't know if this is a spoiler or not but in The Drowned Pass I ran into a zombie(first enemy you fight in the game) wearing a top hat and a cane saying "Capital, you made it". Short fight and then he bolts, WTF?? The game starts out slow but gets better and better as you go, now I'm hoping they make a sequel cause the ending left a big smile on my face. |

My girlfriend surprise bought me this game for PS3. Havent had the chance to try it yet. I didnt know much about it but after reading some reviews it sounds good. The God of War/Ocarina of Time mix of influences sounds interesting. |

I'm going to have to say no. THQ does put out a lot of PC stuff and Vigil Games is developing a MMO for it (Warhammer 40,000 Online) but I can't really see this coming to PC. You never know though. Why don't you wait and find out? ![]() I think most PC users would complain about the graphics. They do the job just fine for me but you know some people... |
