Default Team Fortress 2 : Demoman vs Soldier update



new double class update for team fortress 2 coming up

there's not much information about it yet, but the individual pages for both classes are up

it seems that valve will be tracking kills made by soldiers and demomen against each other over the next week and the side that gets a higher tally will get an extra weapon unlock when the update goes out.

yea, the engineer is last. although, engineer is the most played class, and i believe their aim with these updates (at least at the beginning) was to help out the classes that weren't played as much.

demo man is gonna win by a looooong shot cus of the 24/7 dustbowl servers and how imbalanced crit demo is on defense for final cap......

I thought engineer was already updated, dispenser has 3 levels, teleport has 3 levels. When game came out you could only make basic dispenser and basic teleport i thought.

yea, that was a small update they did for a few classes. the proper class update with new weapons and achievements is still left.

God I hate demos. It's already the most over powered class in the game for anyone that can keep low enough pings.

looks like the soldiers are increasing their lead. i don't see the demomen coming back from behind now, but who knows...

Team Fortress 2 is becoming . . wow.

This game is like a snowball rolling down the hill, only rather than a snowball, it's a big ball of multiplayer first person shooter goodness. Crafting, are you serious? As if this game could possibly get any better, they add even more depth to it. It's almost turning into some sort of a wicked MMORPG/FPS hybrid. I've just never seen anything quite like this before. We're literally seeing the ongoing major evolution of an already couple-year-old video game before our eyes.

Ye crafting is a big turn off for me, bad enough having multiple items appear on screen like an annoying pop up advert. But looks like engineer is getting update so i'm excited for that at least.

i don't think crafting will be a bad idea. they obviously can't let players craft any item that doesn't already exist in the game... otherwise you'd have people running around with unbalanced weapons and what not. it will probably be limited to hats and maybe cosmetic changes to existing weapons. and we can get rid of the extra junk in the backpacks.

I would expect the soldiers to win because they can long range spam. Plus, I think more people play demo, which could have a reverse effect as there are more of them to kill than soldiers.

I figured Demos would win because of sticky spam. I don't play demo often but most of my high scores are on demo because of the chance of taking out 3-4 guys at time is pretty high with well placed stickies.

Servers I've been on so far soldiers pretty much dominated.

can't help but feel gutted about discarding all the weapons I already had...

it looks like its just way of combining the stuff you don't want into weapons you can get away just haven't unlocked yet, so you can turn all those natasahs into the cross bow, if you haven't got it yet....

how long this war thing go on for anyway?

My regular server has, thank God, instituted class limits on Soldiers and Demo's for the time being.

Also, does no-one else think that the Crafting blurb was complete for-fun stuff? It sounds too silly to me. Actually, I'm half starting to wonder if this is really going to be the Engineer update. Valve is crazy like that sometimes.
