Default 97th Grey Cup

What a final !

After an amazing 15-3 season, the Alouettes had about the worst possible start they could have had, trailing 17-3 at the half.

They came back with a touchdown but Saskatchewan answered back and at 27-11 into the fourth quarter, I think everyone, including me, thought it was over.

Then Montreal scored, converted for 2. They intercepted, then scored again, this time they failed the 2-point conversion. 27-25.

1:39 left. Ligning up for a short kick, Saskatchewan were suprised by a booming kickoff that reached the 2-yard line, returned for about 10-15 yards. 3 and out. Brian Bratton fumbles the punt at the 40, but Montreal recovers with over a minute left, and no timeouts.

10 seconds left, the Alouettes just inside Saskatchewan territory. Montreal pass ruled incomplete after review, which would have put them into field goal range.

Pass is complete in the middle of the field with 5 seconds left. Field goal unit comes on the field.

The kick is...wide left. But there's a penalty. Illegal substitution, too many men on the field. There were 12 men ligned up, + 1 in the end zone.

The second kick is good. Montreal wins 28-27 in front a stomped Saskatchewan crowd. Montreal led the game for exactly 0 seconds, but still won.

Surely one of the best finishes in Grey Cup history.

They couldn't have scripted it any better if they tried.

Epic is the right word.

I was flipping through the channels earlier and saw the two Mounties walking out with the cup. I didn't watch it.

Epic as in EPIC FAIL for the Roughriders! Seriously, they blew almost every oppourtunity they were given (and they had a BUNCH) to put Montreal out of the game.

Roughrider fans must have been either throwing things or crying after blowing that game.

I called it to. My Fiance was cheering for the Roughriders and I told her before the first half was over that the Roughriders would blow their chances and Montreal would pull the win out of the butts in the last minute.

Painful loss.....we won it then gave it away. Huge screw up for the 13th man on the field. I wonder if he'll have a pile of horse **** on his driveway in the morning

I know people always blame the last guy but it's hard to pin it just on him...they couldn't pull it together as a team for a long time in the 4th quarter. For some reason, after sacking Calvillo they forgot how to punch through Montreal's blockers

Was it just me or did the whole thing seem really poor in production? From the half time show to the final celebrations... Now i wasnt expecting NFL type of deal, but man everything felt so low budget.

I was hoping for not a west vs west final so i was going to root for whatever team that was representing the east side. Congrats to the AL's, what a crazy finish.

the CFL certainly doesn't have anywhere near the money the NFL does unfortunately. As for the final celebrations...most of the fans there were Roughrider fans and they were in shock...and how can you blame them? They go from thinking they have it won to finding out their team made a retarded mistake to losing it all within a couple minutes
