Default So i'm basically renting a card tomorrow.

I'm gonna pick up a 9800gt for $109 off the shelf tomorrow at Fry's. I'm gonna use it for 3-4 weeks and return it. I need to play my games I might get a 250gts just for the hell of it. YAYY!!! it's gonna feel good to run on pure power again

Doing this with intent is criminal behavior.

It's OK though, as long as it's an Nvidia card.... They don't have much for morals either.

Why would you pay for sex with an ugly hooker, when you can pay a little bit more and get one with out a STD? When you are just going to "Grand Theft Auto" her and get your money back.

There are some great last-generation cards for sale in the R3D forums.

Surely you can afford $50-70?

Hell yeah. 3-4 weeks and if he don't return it to the shop, he must admit that he stole it.

I think it's pretty stupid people abuse such policies. I'd love to have such a user-friendly service here in mexico where I could potentially return anything I wanted.

Isn't there a 15 day / 15% return fee for PC components @ fry's?

Nah, You have 30 days/month to return it. Any longer and you get in store credit.

It wouldn't really be "renting" seeing as you'd be getting all your money back and they'd be getting nothing for letting you use the product.

So then when I come over later and "borrow" your car and girlfriend/wife, that'll be A-OK, right? It's what all the cool kids do, it would seem.

Some stores lose money on returns since they have to ship it back even though its in 100% working condition. Then the other stores like Compusa for for example would repackage it, discount it by 7-10% and put it back on the shelf.

Either way its still going to hurt the stores profit.
