Default Asus 4850 512MB BBA or Sapphire Vapor-x 4850 512MB

The sapphire is about 5€ more expensive. I am thinking of going with the Sapphire card.
Are their any benefits to ASUS card since its BBA(built by ATI)?

I've always been a fan of the VaporX cooling products that sapphire is into. Can't go wrong either way.

Both brands are good, and the VaporX coolers are good too. But I'd wait for a HD5770 to come in stock, even if its a little more expensive.

What is your budget BD, and what retailer/e-tailer are you planning to order the card from? Using Newegg for reference, I'm seeing a few 1GB cards that will suit your rig perfectly. However, since Newegg has changed their replacement policy from 1 year to 30 days, if available, I'd definitely go with XFX or Visiontek to take advantage of the lifetime warranty. Graphics cards can sometimes act pretty quirky long after 30 days, so you may as well get your money's worth.

As Caveman suggested, good choices could be:

XFX HD-577A-ZNFC HD 5770 1GB - $174.99 Lifetime Warranty

ASUS EAH5770 HD 5770 1GB - $159.99

SAPPHIRE 100283L HD 5770 1GB - $159.99

HIS H577F1GDG HD 5770 1GB - $159.99

Just in case the HD 5770's are more than what you want, you can get the 5750 below with a lifetime warranty. You'll lose 80 SP's, 150MHz on the core, and 50MHz on the Memory. With proper cooling, you may be able to get the clocks back up.

XFX HD-575X-ZNFC HD 5750 1GB - $139.99

unfortunately we don't have NEWEGG in Slovenia.
But looking at the prices the Sapphire 4850 512MB I get for 98€, but 5750 1GB the price is 130€ and the 5770 1GB is 150€.
I own a 19" AOC WS LCD so I am thinking the best choice is to go with Sapphire Vapor X 4850 512MB.
Do you agree?

Honestly, it depends on what games you play, and whether your 19" LCD's resolution is either 1440x900 or 1680x1050. The latter definitely compromises the 4850's performance a lot sooner for current games, not to mention future releases. The former gets the job done, but for how long?

Personally, I say don't pull the trigger on the 4850 just yet. Even with a 128 Bit interface, the 5770 & 5750 out perform the 4850. Add that to lower power consumption, a cooler chip, and less money on the power bill, you've got yourself a winner.

I'd wait or get a 1x6 pin, 5000 series offering. You'll come to terms with how great of a decision you've made later, especially when drivers mature.

Mine 19" has 1440x900 resolution and I need the card now.
By looking at benchmarks HD5770 is between HD4850 and HD4870. So it does not justify paying 50€ more for it now does it?
And I leave in a students dormitory so electricity isn't a problem Plus I intend to run FAH GPU on the card when it is idle.

I see that I can't convince you to get a 5000 series card BD. I can't really talk as I'm not picking one up until maybe February.

Go for the Sapphire. It's been proven time and time again that the 4000 series cards are true to performance in every possible way. I absolutely love mine. Folding, especially when using a VMware Client in addition to an experimental GPU client, will server you greatly.

Make the purchase already.
