America's oldest worker – a Kansan – dies at 106

Waldo McBurney of Quinter, Kan., who was designated as America’s oldest worker in 2006, died Wednesday. He was 106.

The designation came from Experience Works, which provides training and employment for senior citizens.

After graduating from college in 1927, he worked in various jobs. He started a seed-cleaning business in the 1950s and ran it until he was 91.

McBurney then turned his beekeeping hobby into a honey business. He sold it last year, saying he was slowing down.

CBS News item back in 2006 when Waldo was 104
104-year-old Ralph Waldo McBurney was recently honored as America's oldest worker at a ceremony in Washington. He talks with Steve Hartman about the key to living a long and satisfying life.

He didn't look anywhere close to 104 in that vid. Healthy man Wish I live that long but it probably won't happen.
