"Back to the gameplay, the action appears to be fast, brutal, and bloody. It's still pretty early on, so specifics weren't plentiful, but it seems as though as a single Space Marine you'll move through the story and engage in some large-scale conflicts against mobs of enemies. Using power swords, chain swords, hammers, bolters, heavy bolters, and more it appears your Space Marine will have quite a few deadly tools to wipe out the Ork hordes from range or up close in melee. In addition to acquiring a number of types of weaponry, you'll also get some useful items that can help with taking out even bigger groups of baddies. We saw a jump pack that a Space Marine can equip and use to pop up into the air and slam down on the ground, sending Orks tumbling in all directions around the point of impact. There's also the potential to acquire and put to use more devastating items, which might include something like an orbital strike that sears a large swath of a planet's surface with a blast originating at an orbiting Space Marine ship."

From the video it looked like you played as your "hero" in DoW2. In fact, the graphics looked so close that it could have been a sweet DoW2 mod

I hope they implement a destructible cover system. Maybe a hybrid of GOW and DOW II. Overall I hope the game looks and feels like the first DOW opening cinematic. That would be awesome

Imagine sitting in a drop ship slamming into the ground with your fellow space marines and exiting under fire. One can hope. What would really be nice, is having you start out on one of the large frigates and allowing the player to select a destination from a list on a map like DOW II.

Yeah it looks pretty much like DOW2 for consoles.
Remove the UI from the SP campaign and it looks pretty much the same, bit more detailed models perhaps.

Youtube preview. Video quality is not that great, but it should give you a decent idea of what the gameplay will be like. Remember this is a really early build.

Thats not the same game anymore, that one was canned.
This is a different one, made by relic.

A post on Relic's boards says that this title is not the same game that was leaked in that video from last year. That clip was "for an action title Studio Aus was working on. This is a totally different project, though it does share the same name as the leaked video used."

Yup. Sources have told us that the original action title was cancelled, but that THQ thought some parts were worth salvaging, and handed the leftovers over to Relic to turn into this action RPG.
