Default This car sort of makes me want an e30...

After seeing the M50 swap in the picture thread on here, and seeing this car, which was used to design a vorshlag suspension for the e30, if I had an e30 that looked as aggressive as these, I don't think I'd mine having one This one is only a 318is, but its still pretty gnarly, putting down 122RWHP on the last dyno, and had some mods after that that they're figuring added 10-15hp... Its for sale in my area, but they want 5500, I think I'd rather find a 300 dollar e30 and put a decent engine in it Anyways, figured I'd post some car porn for grimm The car doesn't have stickers all over it anymore, so now its just a clean e30.

Hey man, glad you're seeing the light of the dark side.

I think your realizing the e30 isn't a 50k dollar sports car but a awesome alternative for having a VERY fun car for not a ton of money.

Get on craigslist and keep an eye out. I'd get a 1989 325is if I could. Try and find one with some records, or whatever. A cheap one would be nice to motor swap.

One of my favorites. It's got a 2.8 L stroker motor.

If you need some help with anything just let me know. Believe it or not I am quite knowledgeable when it comes to e30's.

I think black or white is pretty much the only color I could stand an e30 in. There's a guy in Austin with a sick e30 with an s54 swapped into it, in alpine white, its badass beyond belief

S54 swapped e30 is nuts. Thats probably not the most money efficient performance gain. But still disgusting.

s52 swap could be had for around 6k not including the car. I saw a silver 318is with a s52 supercharged. Car was insane. I'd definitely get one for a project car. Don't have to get it registered or insured yet. Build it up when you get bored.

If I find a cheap rolling chassis, i might do that. I'm not interested in anything with an engine, I want something I can do whatever I want with, even if its putting a SBC in it I could also do an M54B30 for around 1500-2000, wouldn't be a bad swap, though I'd have to have a 330 ecu as well, unless theres something out there that can control the dual vanos...

Buying a cheap BMW and turning it into a track monster does sound like a lot of fun. Although, I would never hear the end of it from my dad. Not sure if it's worth it.

Put an SBC in it, you'll hear the end of it once you stomp on it

Not likely. He's driven the best that BMW has to offer and given them all a fair shakedown. He'd most likely shake his head and sigh.

Actually, I was mistaken, the alpine white E30 in Austin is a supercharged S52

Wonder what the weight distribution is like with a S/C S52.
