![]() Dangit, I just installed the betas the other day. They seem to be very good drivers though. I swear AA coverage in UE3 games is improved, but this might be totally psychosomatic. |

![]() The hell you say? I'll have to fire up UT3. I've noticed that with previous sets, unreal engine games with some drivers have much better AA vs. other drivers. Straighter edges, and all that. Apparently these fix a few issues the beta's had, such as Grid blue screening.

![]() Took a look at the release notes and the they listed only one difference between these and the 182.05 WHQL Release Candidate. See below. Release Note link not working in first post either so reposted below ... Single GPU Resolved Issues GeForce 9800 GTX/GX2/GT/GTX+, GeForce 8800 GTS/GT/GS: The system hangs when switching between performance states. [516808] For open issues see Release Notes ... ![]() Has anyone tried these with Windows 7? EDIT: Nevermind, Vantage locks up with these. The only driver I can find to work on Windows 7 and Vantage is the 185.2 beta's. I'll stick with these to see how performance is in games though. just would be nice to see the difference in scores.

![]() Freaking Vantage, what a piece of junk. I got a full version license for it bundled with some Mushkin memory I bought a while back. I really could care less about 3DMark, I didn't buy the memory because of it, but the other week when I got my GTX 285 I figured I'd fire it up just to check out the rolling demo part since they're usually cool to watch at least once. Well, I can't even run it because it specifically requires that your display support 1280x1024. What kind of crap is that? You can run the benchmark at lower resolutions than that so why the heck does it require that your display support 1280x1024? I use an HDTV that can't run that resolution. Tried setting up a custom resolution in conjunction with scaling but had no luck getting it to work in the last couple driver releases. Ugh sorry to go off on a tangent here, just came to mind because of Vantage being mentioned. |

![]() strange, these are supposed to be the same as 182.05 except a single fix.. but they froze in l4d after 5 mins. went back to 182.05 and all is great again ![]() |

![]() My TV officially only supports 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x720, 1360x768 and 1920x1080 (interlaced) - that's what it reports in the DDC info. Yet for the last couple of driver sets weird resolutions have been showing up. E.g. 1768x992 is in there now. The extra resolutions work, they're automatically scaled by the drivers (even though the actual scaling options are greyed out). I'm not sure how they're picking what resolutions to add. In any case, it seems with this driver set that 1280x1024 is in there, so I can probably run it now. |

![]() I think I might go back to the 181.22's. These new ones make Far Cry 2 all jerky.

![]() Thanks for the heads up. If this release gives you another 9% in HL2, doesn't that mean we should all be getting around 10000000000000000000 FPS in HL2 by now? Every other driver version makes a similar claim! |
