Default walm-mart employee trampled to death by black friday mob

this is why i like to shop online

http://www.newsday.com/news/local/na...0,167903.story

Quote:
A 34-year-old Wal-Mart worker died Friday morning after "a throng of shoppers . . . physically broke down the doors" and knocked him to the ground as the crowd pushed its way into the store at a Valley Stream mall, Nassau police said.

One police officer told Newsday the prelude to the death at the Green Acres Mall was "a mob scene." The man who died was a temporary, part-time Wal-Mart worker, the officer said.

Shoppers who surged into the store were asked to leave by Wal-Mart workers, some of them crying and visibly upset, said one shopper, Kimberly Cribbs, of Far Rockaway.

I thought about going to the brick-and-mortar Black Friday dealies today, but it's not like the deals are THAT great in the first place.

Black Friday deals are usually garbage anyway. It's just crap that didn't sell during the year. I mean a printer on sale for $30 is ok if you really need a printer. But I rather just buy something I really want with the features I need that is on sale. (ie. my Canon Pixma MP620 Wi-fi printer).

Default I was one of them....

My wife and I were at our local walmart at 3:30, it wasn't too bad then.... I was first in line for the 128.00 blu-ray player, by 5:00 starting time it was a madhouse, even though I was first in line let me tell you I was NOT the first to get a player, people literly climbed over my cart and was grabbing the boxes before I even touched one, like someone yelled go and they all piled on. I did get one but I don't think I will do that again...

Christmas is 26 days away last time I checked. Until then it's about greed, selfishness and trampling people to death.

You know the people who stomped that man to death probably don't hold themselves responsible. "Hey I just wanted to shop a little, all these other ****ers killed that guy. Not me!"

You guys realize Walmart got bonus bucks for the guy's death, right?

Unless they end up having to pay for some sort of legal costs, the life insurance on the dead guy is a nice plus for them.

I went shopping to a few places today. I usually avoid shopping on Black Friday from a bad experience in the past but my wife had to work. Found a few decent deals but not much worth the trouble on things my kids actually wanted.

I can definitely see how this crap happens though. I didn't even go out first thing in the morning and people were still rude and inconsiderate. Women in particular turn into pretty evil creatures today... I tried to be extra nice to the cashiers. I worked retail when I was a teenager and don't miss it. People should take a long hard look in the mirror and think about how they behave sometimes.

Amen to that. I used to work at Wendys, and got treated like **** daily. People are just rude in general. Don't watch where they're going, or just don't give a damn....

I was always taught to treat others with respect. I guess that doesn't mean much these days.

And there is nothing on sale worth rushing stores for.
All sales are matched online at standard prices and their online black friday sales are 10x better. Except the people shopping walmart are usually the trash of mankind and/or complete ****tards.

Black Friday being hyped like the be-all, end-all shopping experience will always result in some one, or more people, being seriously injured or killed as people try to take advantage of the "omg-unbeatable-deals"

Also, the uber deals they have at 5am? Most will be there at about 4pm.

Went to work with my wife this early am, 3:45am at wal-mart (she works at walmart, not for walmart, merchandiser) and I really didn't see any deals that were great, for Black Friday.

I just didn't see anything that was a great deal that I don't already have or anything that would make a decent present.

It really sucks that someone dies while working for walmart by people looking for so-called "deals".

Well the guy was temporary help, and it being walmart and all he probably didn't even have medical coverage with them, let alone life

Just heard that there was a gunfight at some toys r us too, thankfully it seems that the two people with the guns only succeeded in killing each other and nobody else was hurt

Yeah, wow...2 people shoot each other? Seems unrelated to the shopping though.

That's just pathetic. Trampled to death by a greedy mob...

I wonder why they even bother running these sort of things any more. People get hurt, and in this case killed, over greed; I don't see why shopping outlets need to be facilitating that.

Once again, pathetic.

Yep, and the family probably doesn't know they had an insurance policy on him. Walmart is horrid. Did we last discuss Walmart having hidden life insurance policies on their employees in this forum or was it P&R?
